Weekly Report January 23, 2005

Dearest Family,

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CLAIRE ON WEDNESDAY - THE 26TH!!!  I know you celebrated your 50th birthday last year SO-O-O-O-O - you're a mighty young "50 something" year old!!!  I hope you have a VERY special day doing something fun!!!!

We are in "pea soup" here in Farmington and we have been for about a week and the weather forecasters tell us it will go on for a few more days..  I was talking to someone at church this morning and she said they had driven to "Kamas" over the weekend and it was perfectly clear and beautiful and that's about 30 miles from here.  I really don't mind it but I know people with respiratory problems who are struggling and I hope we will have a snow storm this week to clear it out.  I always worry about driving to the temple early in the mornings but it wasn't foggy Saturday until I got to the temple and when I got there I couldn't see the road leading to the parking places underground so I parked on top - THAT'S VERY UNUSUAL!!!  It's usually clear up that far.

Bob & Claire are home from Mexico and they had a GREAT time - too short but fun.  I have appreciated the pictures Claire has sent to me on the internet.  One of their friends is serving as a Mission President in Mexico City and he & his wife showed them around, especially to good shopping places.  I also appreciate the pictures Claire has sent from Katie's cheerleading competition - that looks like a WHOLE LOT OF WORK TO ME!!!

Jeannie came over last Sunday for a good visit and then Rick came over during the week to write the names on the place cards for Jessie's luncheon - he has such GOOD penmanship.  He told me he missed the classes
that taught penmanship in school because of changing schools so his Mother taught him - she did a good job!!!  They went to Sun Valley last week and will be home either tonight or tomorrow - Rick had a business meeting there and they always love to go to Sun Valley.

I have talked to John several times this week - he has handled some Lehi property business for me.  He went to New York but got home before the BIG snow storm hit over the weekend. He's doing good!!!  It's fun to hear him tell about his horses, barn, tractor, Tar, etc..

My brother, Don, celebrated his 75th birthday last Monday, the 17th.  Cheryl had taken him home on Sunday and their children got together that night for dinner.  I went to visit with him at the Veteran's Nursing Home in Salt Lake on Tuesday and I haven't seen him that "lucid" for a long, long time.  I had found some family pictures when he was young in Brigham City and I had them enlarged.  I was REALLY surprised that he knew everyone in the pictures - he and Dee were in a picture with their older brother Bob who was dressed in his pilot's uniform and it turned out SO good.  He also knew Lela, Hilda & Bill and I had a picture with me, Ann, Dee & Don at the Capitol in Washington D.C. when they visited us in Raleigh, North Carolina and he knew all of us.  He bought a pair of cowboy boots for Ann when she was about 3 years old and he talked about that.  I'll find more pictures again and take them to him - he showed them to the nurses and others at the Nursing Home.  He was asleep when I first got to the Nursing Home but the nurse insisted that she awaken him and I was glad she did.  I stayed a couple hours and enjoyed it.  I went to Centerville on Wednesday and visited with Cheryl for a little while - she was taking care of Clint's children while he and his wife were in CanCun.  They have a lovely home in Centerville and Clint is still working at Hill field.

I still LOVE my "picture project".  John has arranged all the pictures according to the albums they are in SO if I need to get a picture I look it up and then find it in the album.  I haven't worked on the picture project for a long time and I need to get back to it so I won't have SO much to catch up on - IT TAKES SO MUCH TIME!!!

Did you all watch President Bush's inauguration?  I REALLY enjoyed the parts I could watch.  I thought about Patrice as they showed pictures of the "Jefferson LIbrary" (I think that's what it is called) and how they told how Mrs. Bush still arranges her own books according to the way they are done in the libraries.  I will always remember how Patrice showed me how to find books when we were at the Orem library one day and I hope she is enjoying her new job at the Little Rock Library in downtown Little Rock.

I know the Woolley family is MIGHTY BUSY with Jessie and Jareds' wedding plans - a WONDERFUL and EXCITING time in their lives and I'm thrilled for them!!!  I can't help but hope for good weather for them but it really won't make any difference in the long run.  There are many weddings at the Bountiful temple and the weather doesn't seem to play that much of a part in them.

I think that's all the news.  I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.  Grandma B XXXXXOOOOO
