Weekly Report November 21, 2004

Dearest Family,

WOW - I'm home from China and it was absolutely WONDERFUL!!!  One of the men on the trip took about 1600 digital pictures to send on the internet for us.  I made the mistake of accessing them this morning and it took a long time so now I must hurry with this letter before church starts.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING - I just remembered that I forgot to send you a card and I feel bad.  I did buy each one of my grandchildren a "Bejing Olympic Stocking Hat" so maybe that will make up for it.  They will have the Summer Olympics in 2008 and they have ALOT to do to get ready for them!!!

I just loved my trip and I'm anxious to tell you all about it - hopefully we will get together at Christmas time.  It was probably the most rigorous (arduous or something) 12 days of my life.  We all met for breakfast at 7 a.m. and we didn't get back to our hotels until after 9 p.m. and we walked, climbed etc. most of every day.  Helen Jane and I decided we didn't want to miss anything and we didn't and I am glad - I will never be able to do anything like that again.  I worried that something would happen to me and I would cause the entire group to be in trouble - many things happened to some of the others and I will have to tell you about them but I was happy to stay healthy.

Bob - thank you SO much for coming to the airport to get Helen Jane and me on Tuesday night!!!  Ellen Mae and Mel had arranged for their son-in-law to take us all to the airport when we left on the previous Friday and we all bought suitcases while we were in China and I knew it would be a REAL problem for him to get all the luggage in his van on Tuesday.  Bob had a cold and I know he was SUPER tired from your Guatemala trip but I appreciated it SO VERY MUCH.  There were six of us - Ellen Mae & Mel, Gene & Wayne and Helen Jane and me and all our luggage.

John - thank you SO much for your phone call.  We had a good visit and he told me about Guatemala and again I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!  He loved it and I'm sure Bob, Claire, Roy, Jean & Ann did too - I was SO thrilled to receive the group picture that Claire sent on the internet.  There were 43 on the group in China and I believe each one of them heard about my children doing such good things in Guatemala and I feel bad that I didn't go with you - I will go next year if you invite me.

I'm REALLY looking forward to being with Roy, Patrice, Emily, Timothy & Jesse for Thanksgiving.  I will leave on Wednesday, Nov. 24th and will come home on Monday Nov. 29th.  John has made my plane reservations and I appreciate that SO much.  It has been fun to watch all the television coverage about the Clinton Presidential Library dedication - Patrice sent a message telling me that we would try to go see it.  I wish John would go with me to Little Rock - he said he hasbeen gone from his work quite a bit but he would think about it!!!  I will miss being with my Utah family and I hope you have a WONDERFUL day.

I haven't talked to anyone in the family this week except Bob & John so I don't have any news.  Bob told me that Laura came home to stay with Katie and they got along fine.  He also told me that 600 people were treated onyour humanitarian trip - that is absolutely FABULOUS!!!  Bob & John enjoyed the food and that makes me happy - Helen Jane wouldn't eat any of the food on our trip in China and she complained each of the 12 days because of it.  I love the food there and I can understand why some people don't like it but they shouldn't complain.

I heard last night that Davis High won the State football championship yesterday - I'm sure the Bob Mellor family went to the game and I'm sure Katie cheered her heart out!!! GOOD FOR DAVIS HIGH!!!  The University of Utah beat BYU and they made a record for themselves- I'm glad I have a grandchild at the U of U - did you go to the game Sarah???

I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.
Grandma B XXXXXOOOOO
