Dearest Family,

There are MANY things to highlight in my letter today!!!  HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TOMORROW - I HOPE EACH ONE OF YOU WILL HAVE THE DAY OFF TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO!!!  PLEASE REMEMBER THE VETERANS!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO BRETT WHO WILL GRADUATE FROM DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY - HE HAS HAD A REMARKABLE FOUR YEARS AND I'M SO PROUD OF HIM!!!

WELCOME TO EMILY WHO IS VISITING IN UTAH FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR TWO YEARS AND WE'RE SO THRILLED TO HAVE HER HERE!!!  SHE HAS TURNED INTO A BEAUTIFUL TEENAGER!!!

WELCOME TO BABY CAROLINE ANN REEVES WHO WAS BORN THIS WEEK IN CHANDLER, ARIZONA.  I HAVE BEEN SO THRILLED TO SEE THE PICTURES THEY HAVE SENT ON E-MAIL AND SHE IS JUST A PERFECT LITTLE BABY DOLL!!!

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOHN THIS NEXT SUNDAY AND I'LL SEND WISHES TO HIM AGAIN NEXT WEEK WHEN I WRITE MY WEEKLY LETTER - I BELIEVE HE WILL BE 30 SOMETHING!!!

I just came home from Lehi a little while ago where I went to decorate graves!!!  The Lehi cemetery looks so pretty and there were many people there with LOTS of flowers.  Jeannie brought me a bouquet of roses last week and I have saved them so I could include them with my flowers because I know her Dad would be pleased to have some form her garden.  I have had some VERY pretty peonies this year and I took a large basket of them along with some Iris and some artificial flowers - I also put the missionary flag up so PaPa's grave looked GREAT!!!

Jeannie came over to visit for a little while tonight and then Bob came over and then Sarah, Katie & Emily came over so I am late in finishing my letter.  I LOVE it when my family drops in to visit and Bob helped me "bolt" my sewing machine back in place.  I was making a newborn layette gown for the humanitarian center and all of a sudden my machine jammed and I had to take it in to a shop to get it fixed and I couldn't bolt it back by myself.

It is SO funny - I made an "Irish" dinner of corned beef and cabbage for Emily and then found out that she doesn't eat meat.  It really wasn't very good anyway so I'm glad she didn't eat it.  It is one of those things that "I won't make again" - Ha!!!  She said that her Mom makes good "soda bread" for their St. Patrick's Day Dinners.  It is WONDERFUL to have her with us - she and Katie are "two peas in a pod" and have a good time together.  When Jeannie came over she said that Sarah had left to try to find them and she did - it's hard for me to get used to the fact that they have their own transportation.  Emily told us that Roy, Patrice, Timothy & Jesse are "floating" the Buffalo this weekend with their church group - she said that it looked like it might rain so she was happy she didn't go.  I remember those Arkansas rains!!!!

The girls are going to help me make some "chicken salad" for sandwiches for Staci's shower tomorrow.  They are spending the night with me and will help in the morning and then go over to the Weinert's in the afternoon to help with other things.  It will be fun to get together with the"cousins" tomorrow and I will be happy to meet Staci's Mom and her other family members who might be there.

I watched the "Live" program of the World War 2 Memorial dedication yesterday afternoon.I LOVED it.  It was even more special because Roy, Timothy & Jesse had visited it when they were in Washington a couple weeks ago and Roy had e-mailed me pictures of it.  I hope to see it sometime - it looks like a fabulous place and the program yesterday brought back a million memories for me.  THAT WAS MY ERA - I kinda' hope I don't look as old as some of the veterans who were there - Ha!!!  I probably look older.

Jeannie told me that Annie will be here for the shower tomorrow.  She has been in Chandler, Arizona helping Susanna with her new little baby and I believe she has brought Jackson home with her.  He will have a GREAT time with LeeAnna & Jimmy as well as Ann & Ron BUT Susanna and Steve will surely miss him.  I love the pictures of him - the ones with his little sunglasses would take a prize.  Caroline looks like both Susanna & Steve I think.

Ricky has been caddying for Boyd in some golf tournaments in North Carolina and Tennessee - I'm sure the heat and humidity have been a surprise for both of them.  Emily has noticed the difference here compared to Little Rock.  She is surely an adventurous young woman to be going to Costa Rica a couple months this Summer - I appreciate so much that she would take the time to come see all of us before she leaves.  Bob, Brett & Jimmy are going to Guatemala on Saturday, Laura is going to New York before going to Maine and she will leave on Thursday, the same day Jean & Sarah are going to New York - WOW what a traveling family.
I'm sure John will be going somewhere but I don't know where???????

I can't think of any more news.  I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.   Grandma B XXXXXOOOOO
