Weekly Report February 19, 2004

Dearest Family,

I am writing my letter REALLY early this week -  I am going to Wyoming with Margaret in the morning and won't be home until Wednesday.  She talked to me last Sunday about going and I told her I couldn't go - I was mixed up and thought my Thai reunion was this weekend but it isn't until next Saturday.  She asked me if I would be a "Housemother" with her over the weekend - two of her grandsons are going and they are taking girl friends.  She doesn't REALLY know who is going or how long they will stay - I may just stay in my bedroom - Ha!!!  Actually they probably won't spend much time in her home except at night - I believe they have a business venture going on.  She has such a big responsibility with that HUGE home and I have to wonder how long she is going to be able to cope with it all.  She worries about the water being left on and the heat turned off and the pipes freezing, etc, etc.  I will make it fun but you all know how much I LOVE to just stay home!!!  Her grandsons are nice young men and they won't be any trouble BUT I'M TOO OLD FOR THIS!!!  Her son and his family spent last week up there and they had a wonderful time  - she has snowmobiles for EVERYONE!!!

I hope you're all doing good.  I have spent all week working on my income tax and I believe I have it ready to send to my CPA in Provo.  Bob - Ricky & Jean came over last Sunday night and that was FUN.  I talked to Jeannie yesterday and she told me that Barji has been called to "jury duty" - I think it is strange they call young mothers but they do.

I had a WONDERFUL letter from Patrice and I LOVE to hear news about my grandchildren.  Emily won her audition for All-State Band and she left this morning to go to the clinic in Hot Springs.  She will stay in a hotel until Saturday when they will play in the concerts.  I hope Roy, Patrice, Suzie,Timothy & Jesse will be able to go hear them.  WAY TO GO EMILY!!!  Timothy was in the Math Counts Central Arkansas chapter competition last week and his school team won first place.  He was 6th out of 12 in the individual competition.  They will compete at the State competition in late March.  WAY TO GO TIMOTHY!!!  Jesse is on the school Quiz Bowl team.  They have qualified for the city champtionship later this month and they practice every day at school and two days after school.  WAY TO GO JESSE!!!  I get homesick when I read about the school activities in Little Rock - I guess because we spent so much time in all the schools there and I think they are OUTSTANDING!!!  I'M VERY PROUD OF YOU EMILY, TIMOTHY AND JESSE!!!

The Roy Mellor family will be changing their vacation plans this year.  They have gone to Gulf Shores Alabama for many years during their spring break and this year they are going to Costa Rica.  They hope to be able to spent one night with the Bob Mellors for dinner.  It just seems unreal to me for my family to meet together in a place like Costa Rica that I didn't even know where it was until Bob pointed it out to me on the world map.  I know the Bob Mellors have loved the time they have spent there.

My DUP meeting was last Wednesday and it was SO nice.  It was held in a lovely home close to where the Weinerts live - they are in the same ward.  Her name is Diane Wheeler and I know Ann & Ron remember her husband when he was the attorney for a man Ron was working with many years ago.  I picked up three ladies and it took me 30 minutes to get them all in my car with their walkers, canes, etc., etc. - I WANT TO STAY HEALTHY!!!

I haven't heard from John this week - he has been traveling alot to Washington D.C. - I hope you're not "SNOWED IN" John.

I'm going to give you some phone numbers where you can reach me:  Etna, Wyoming 307-883-2015 and Margaret's cell phone:721-7719.

I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.
Grandma B XXXXXOOOOO
