Weekly Report February 15, 2004

Dearest Family,

I am looking at my calendar for last week and there isn't much to write about and I have to ask myself "why am I SO busy"???  I know the reason is because I AM SO SLOW and there isn't anything I can do about that - ha!!!

I did mail the "genealogy stuff" to Shirley but I haven't heard from her.  It is going to be VERY interesting to see if she follows through on the geneaology book.  I have a few more dates to get - Michael's endowment date and the date Rick's parents were sealed in the temple and when I get them, I will print everything I have and mail it to each one of you.  It will be good for us to have those records even if Shirley's plans don't work out.

I have talked to each one of you this week and of course that makes me happy.  Thanks to John for talking to our new attorney - I appreciate him keeping on top of that very much.  Thanks to Roy for calling to give me the genealogy information I needed - I don't talk to him often and it's good when he calls to always say "This is Roy" because Bob, Roy & John all sound alike and it was fun to talk to him.  Thanks to Annie for getting me informed about the "Woolley coming and goings" - she had talked to Jessie that day when it was -4 in Provo and 78 in San Diego!!!  Thanks to Jeannie for her visit and telling me about Boyd & Barji's fun time in California even though Boyd didn't make the cut to play in the Buick Challenge.  I thought that was SO interesting and I am VERY happy to become more informed about the game of golf.  The headlines in our paper said that a player by the name of "Singh" was the leader and the next day, the headline was that he didn't make the cut to continue.  I know that's "the game of golf".  We are proud of Boyd's success at Pebble Beach - I couldn't track that for some reason and it was funny because Chris called me from Little Rock early one morning and she was so excited because she had read in the Little Rock paper that Boyd had done well.  Thanks to Bob for coming over to visit a few minutes ago and for giving me some needed advice!!!

One of my neighbors called me this week and invited me to a "free" dinner at the Sizzler.  She said we would have to listen to a fire safety program during the dinner and I thought it was going to be put on by the fire department and that they would ask for a donation or something.  ANYWAY - Margaret and I went and it was a private smoke and heat detector company and they were advertising their products.  They came to our condos on Friday morning and gave us their ideas about the detectors we needed and where to put them.  To make a long story short I bought two of them for $562.12.  It seemed like a good safety thing because of his sales pitch but Bob looked up "smoke alarms" on the internet and the most expensive ones are about $50.00 - I'm sure we were taken advantage of.  The information they left here said we could cancel our purchase within 3 business days so I am going to call in the morning and tell them I have changed my mind and ask them to come pick them up.  There won't be a problem because I charged them and I'll call my credit card company and cancel the charge.  Margaret bought four of them but that won't bother her one single bit.  I don't usually "fall" for sales pitches and there were several "red flags".  They gave us a large box of sharp knives, a free dinner and I won a prize of a fire extinguisher for the kitchen.  OH ME!!!  Lynn would never have fallen for that and Bob is SO much like his Dad.

I went to the Roger's Memorial Theatre" production of "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" on Thursday night and it was unbelievably good.  I continue to be amazed at all the talent in this area - they do a remarkable job on such a small stage.  It is always fun to go with our little "condo group".

Jeannie & Rick just came over so I am going to stop writing - I don't have any more news!!!  They brought me the dates I need from their family so now all I need is Michael's date.

I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.
 Grandma B XXXXXOOOOO
