Dearest Family,

CONGRATULATIONS TO SARAH - she graduated from Davis High School last Thursday!!!  I went to her graduation exercises with Jeannie and Rick and then Barji, Preston and Mary Ann came.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day - and I enjoyed everything so very much.  There were 776 graduates and they looked SO nice in their gold and brown caps and gowns and I believe all the graduates attended along with their parents, grandparents, etc.,etc.  We all went to the Weinerts for a delicious dinner afterwards and David and Boyd joined us - it was fun to sit out on their patio to eat and watch little Preston crawl all over the lawn even though they tried to confine him to the blanket - he is "all over the place".  One of Sarah's friends brought her a "planted ice cream popsicle" gift that was SO creative.  Jeannie and Rick were chaperones of the Davis High Senior All Night party - they did that last year for Mary Ann's class too so they were prepared to stay awake all night and make sure all the graduates "stayed put" - Ha!!!  They have LOTS of activities planned for them and I'm sure it was fun.  Sarah left on Saturday morning with some friends to fly to San Diego for a few days and she'll be home on Tuesday, I think.

I hope John had a Happy Birthday camping trip in the Uintahs - it has actually been quite cool here so I'm sure he has experienced some cold weather.  I have been swimming every morning this past week and the water is cool so I stay cool all day - I can't get anyone to swim with me.  We had to stop the two women who were coming to swim last Summer because our insurance wouldn't cover them and one has multiple sclerosis and could fall so easily.  The pool is filled with condo members and their grandchildren during the afternoon and I love to watch them have fun - I wish I had grandchildren come to swim and I hope they get the heater fixed.

I think about the Woolley family so often - they have had ALOT going on in their lives.  I hope Grandpa Russ is doing good and will soon be able to go to his home in Jerome - I can just imagine how difficult it is for him to be away from his home of many, many years.  I think about Jessie and I hope her eye problem has been resolved for her.  I think about Susanna, Steve and little Jackson - I notice on the weather news that Phoenix has had temperatures around 105 degrees for most of the past month and that is HOT!!!  We grew accustomed to it though and they will too.  I think about Russell and I don't believe he has been sending his regular e-mails so I know he is SUPER busy getting prepared for their new Mission President.  I think about Lee Anna and how difficult it is to send her friend/boy on his mission.  I'm glad Jimmy is at home and doing normal things - like practicing football in 100 degree weather - Ha!!!

I think about the Roy Mellor Family - I'm sure Emily, Timothy and Jesse are out of school by now and that is a concern for Patrice as she tries to juggle her work schedule so she can be at home when they need her.  Chris tells me you have had ALOT of rain.

I appreciate Claire SO much as she keeps me informed about their family activities and I LOVE her internet pictures.  The last one was of Katie all dressed up for her ninth grade school dance.

I had such a WONDERFUL experience yesterday morning.  I went to Sams on Friday and they had a "glider" on display - I have wanted one for my front patio since I moved here and the only ones I could find were made of wood.  This one was perfect in size and material that could stand all kinds of weather SO I bought it!!!   I was SO excited and brought it home - the young man who works with his Father in our condos saw me trying to carry it out of my car and he came to help me because it was quite large.  I thought "Oh, he is going to help me put it together".  I had NO idea what that involved until I opened the package.  This young man said, "Oh, don't take anything out, just put the lid back on until one of your sons can come help you".  I was SO disappointed and I sat down by it and read the instructions and they said in VERY bold letters, "THIS TAKES A MINIMUM OF TWO PEOPLE TO ASSEMBLE".  By this time it was quite late on Friday evening so I tried to put everything back in the box and decided I would take it back to Sams on Saturday after I came home from the temple.

I had my break at the temple with another sister and I told her my story and she immediately said, "My husband and I will come put it together for you right after we change our clothes from being at the temple".  I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!  She said they had also bought one at Sams last week and she said it would only take them a few minutes to do it and they REALLY wanted to!!!  They live in Bountiful and they were here about five minutes after I got home on Saturday morning and by noon, my glider was all assembled and I LOVE IT!!!  I feel SO sad because I don't know their names - I call her Sister DeOnne and her husband's name is Garry but I don't know their last names.  I will go to the temple on Tuesday and find out their names so I can take them something.  They have only been workers at the temple for about four months so I don't know them that well but they will always have a special place in my heart!!!

I was released from being Compassionate Service Leader in Relief Society this morning - I have served under two Presidents and it is past time for me to be released.  My new calling is to be a Visiting Teacher Supervisor - probably the easiest calling in the ward and I AM THRILLED.  I was so worried that I would be called to work in the Primary and I REALLY didn't want that.  Margaret has been called as Temple Coordinator - that is a perfect calling for her because she is willing but just doesn't go as often as she should.  Our other friend, Patt Guthrie has been called to be the Humanitarian Coordinator and she doesn't know exactly what that is - Ha!!!  The new Relief Society President lives in the condos and I think she is trying to get all the sisters involved.

Jeannie called and left me a message on my answering machine telling me they closed the cable ComCast Office in Portland so Ricky will be coming home to find a job close to home.  All these business things are such good experiences but kinda' disappointing.  I will be happy to have Ricky closer to home and Jeannie & Rick will be too.

That's all the news, I think!!!  I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.  Grandma B XXXXXOOOOO
