Dearest Family,
We have had a BEAUTIFUL Easter Sunday today and
I hope the weather has been as nice where you all have been. We have had
ALOT of rain and cold temperatures this past week so it has been good to see
the sun - my tulips are absolutely gorgeous!!!
THE BIG NEWS FOR THIS LETTER IS THAT JOHN HAS
FOUND HIS DOG, TAR!!! The school custodian who has been trying to get in
touch with John finally succeeded and John picked him up on Thursday. I was
SO thrilled to see the pictures that John sent to everyone - I LOVE to think
of him running on the farm in Lehi. He is such a SPECIAL dog and I am proud
of John for loving him so much - I have pictures of the time he first picked
him up at the airport when he was just a puppy. I'm convinced that Tar
belongs with John when I realize that he has been lost for two and half
years - things like this just don't happen. I wish I hadn't been SO angry
when I thought the man who found Tar wasn't trying hard enough to find John
- I'm going to be better. John said, "God Bless that man for trying so hard
to find me".
Many Thanks to Bob and Claire for inviting me to
their home for Easter dinner today - it is always fun to be with their
family and the food was delicious - grilled steak and the works!!! Michael
and Laura had come home from Logan and Michael's roommate, Neil, was with
them also. Katie and Brett told us a little about their trip to Florida
last week - in fact, they just got home last night and I am impressed that
they could have dinner guests so soon after a big trip. Alice and Bob were
with us and they are planning a trip to Sedona,(sp,?) Arizona soon and it
was fun to hear about that. I am SO proud of Michael and Laura for working
at the Great Harvest Bread Store in Logan - Michael and Neil have just
started there but Laura has been working this entire year.
I'm anxious to hear from Annie and learn about
her trip to Phoenix for a "dinner reunion" with her High School friends on
Friday night. We moved from Phoenix in 1964 - 39 years ago - and she had
such good close friends there!!! I think it is just WONDERFUL that Ron
encouraged her to go see them again. I have often wondered what our lives
would have been like if we had stayed in Phoenix instead of moving to Little
Rock - I know Ann's High School years would have been VERY different but I
will always think we were supposed to move even though it was hard, hard,
hard on Annie.
Jessie - Thank you SO much for your letter. I
was thrilled to hear from you and to receive your postal address. I know
you love San Diego but I miss having you in Utah. Margaret has just
returned from Disneyland where she went with her family and she said it was
quite cool for California. I'm SO proud of your accomplishments - teaching
English and all!!! I will be thinking of you this next week when you have
the "little" operation on your eye.
I'll be happy when the Weinerts get home
tomorrow and I hope they have had a GREAT time in Hawaii - I also hope that
Sadie has completely recovered. We had some gusty wind storms this week and
I worried about their patio furniture. I'm sure they were prepared and have
put the furniture some place safe but I probably should have gone to check.
They live in such a good neighborhood and everyone watches out for each
other.
Katie told me that Emily probably won't be
coming to Utah to stay for a long time this Summer. I haven't heard but I'm
disappointed - I LOVE it when they are together and come for a swim or a
"sleepover". I believe Emily has plans to go back East for something
special - hopefully Timothy and Jesse will come.
I had my D.U.P. meeting last Wednesday and it
turned out SO good. We have a lady in our camp who used to teach school and
she taught the lesson about the city of Tooele. That brought back lots of
memories because I taught kindergarten there almost 60 years ago - WOW!!! I
don't believe I have been back there since that time and it's not that far
away.
I have thought about Russell all week as there
has been such alot of news on television about the "SARS" epidemic in Asia
and even though Madagascar isn't in that particular area it is scary. There
have been so many concerns during the time Russell has been on his mission
and I know he is very careful but he needs to constantly be aware of his
health and take good care of himself. His missionary friend who has typhoid
fever has a last name that is very familiar to me - my friend Beth Tippets
was from Wyoming also. I hope so much that she is completely well by now
and that none of the other missionaries get sick.
Isn't it wonderful that all the Prisoners of the
War in Iraq are back in the United States - I am impressed with their
attitudes and concern for those who are still fighting.
I think that's all the news!!! I LOVE EACH ONE
OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH. PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING
YOU DO. Grandma B XXXXXOOOOOWritten

Dearest Family,
Last night was a "ZOO" as I tried to write my
weekly letter. I couldn't download my "in messages" for a little while
and then Margaret called me to talk for two hours and tell me about her
trip to California - Ha!!! Anyway - I came to the computer this morning
and found all the WONDERFUL pictures of little Jackson Reeves and the
WONDERFUL article and picture of Laura in the newspaper. Thank you all
for sending them to me!!! I'm VERY proud of Laura and she is SO happy in
her school and her picture ALMOST does her justice!!! I don't believe I
need to tell the Reeves that they should have a dozen children - Jackson
is a beautiful baby and Susanna could do a commercial for beauty and
PERFECT teeth!!! I LOVE YOU - Grandma B
