Weekly Report September 21, 2002

Dearest Family,

I am writing my letter tonight because I am going to Star Valley in the morning and won't be home until next Friday.  I ordered tickets way last Summer for the National Convention of the Bar J Singers which is being held in Jackson, Wyoming this next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  I got six tickets and I believe there will be eight staying at Margaret's home so everyone will not be able to go every night but that's okay - it's about the same thing but with different State B J Singers participating.  It will be alot of fun BUT I am very tired of packing and going - for someone who absolutely hates to pack I surely do alot of it - Ha!!!

Jesse - I was SO thrilled to find your e-mail message on my computer today.  I will write to you and tell you if I see any wild animals while I am in Wyoming this next week.  I'm very proud that you can have your own e-mail address and know how to access letters from it - I have many friends who don't even know how to turn a computer on.

Annie - Thank you for your phone call.  I haven't talked to you for a long, long time and it was SO good to visit for a little while.  Your campaign sounds exciting but alot of work - I always say "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" and I'm proud of you.  I checked the sports paper today and learned that Timpview won their football game last night by a large margin so I'm betting that Jimmy got to play - I hope so and I hope he doesn't get hurt.  Susanna is working two nights a week so she couldn't go to the Timpview game but Steve was going to take little Jackson - I think that's GREAT.  Ann says that Jessie is loving San Diego and her school - I miss having her drop in like she used to.  She also says that Lee Anna is LOVING BYU and living away from home - Ha!!!  We all know that Russell is doing FABULOUS!!!

Jeannie - I loved going to your home and visiting while celebrating Rick's birthday and his cake was delicious.  I keep thinking of little Preston and what a darling baby he is - it was so much fun to watch you give him a bath and his little portable bathtub is wonderful.  That was the first big thing we bought when Annie was born and it was a real nuisance - took up most of the space in our little bathroom and then leaked all over the floor!!!  I had a surprise this afternoon - the phone rang and it was Sarah and she said "I'm in your backyard".  I looked out and there she was standing at my fence - she was with some darling boys who were playing golf and I believe she was driving their cart - she looked just beautiful!!!  I missed seeing Mary Ann and David when I went to wish Rick a Happy Birthday - I wasn't sure I could go and they had already left by the time I got there - I'M SO EXCITED FOR THEM.  Rick and Boyd are going to play in a Pro/Am golf tournament in Sun Valley sometime this week - I have forgotten when.

Bob and Claire are in San Diego for a medical meeting.  I know how independent Brett and Katie are so I won't even call them but I hope they will call me if I can help them before I leave for Wyoming.  I believe Michael and Laura were coming home for the weekend and their parents will be home on Wednesday.  Bob,  Claire, Brett and Katie came over for Family Home Evening last Monday and we had a good visit - they are SO busy that I consider a fifteen minute visit worth at least an hour - Ha!!!  I was watching an interview with Goldie Hawn the other night and it occurred me that Katie reminds me of her - does she you???  Michael is struggling with his math classes and WOW can I ever relate to that - Laura has a business class with Ricky - isn't that neat???

Annie told me that one of her friends saw John and Laura at a Viewpoint Party last week so I know they are still alive - Ha!!!  I haven't heard from them since I came home from California BUT THAT'S OKAY!!!

General Conference is coming up - you are all welcome to come to my condo for dinner and to watch the afternoon session.  You know my situation and if you don't mind all crowding into my T.V. room you are welcome.  The missionaries from the Montana Billings Mission have organized a missionary reunion for Friday night, Oct. 4th - I'm going to try to get my slides in order - ugh!!!  David Taylor has arranged to have it at one of the churches in his Stake - I don't believe there will be many coming.

We are having beautiful weather - cool nights and warm bright sunshiny days.  I LOVE FALL AND WINTER!!!  I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - Grandma B X0
