Weekly Report March 3, 2002
Dearest Family,
I just came home from Provo - CONGRATULATIONS TO
JIMMY!!! The Woolley's ward had a Scout Court of Honor tonight and awarded
Jimmy his EAGLE SCOUT AWARD!!! I'm proud of you Jimmy and also your family.
Their ward has some outstanding scout leaders and the meeting was just
WONDERFUL!!! Ron had made a video of Jimmy growing up and attending all his
Scout activities and I was SO impressed - it just couldn't have been better
and I know things like that take such a lot of time. I think it is GREAT they
have so many pictures of him doing Scouting things; making snow caves, the
little car races (I can't think of what they are called), bonfires, tents,
cooking pancakes, etc., etc. You have to have something like the video in
mind when your children are very young so you will be prepared with the video
when the time comes and then I think of going through all those slides to
choose the ones you want - WAY TO GO RON!!!
The Woolley's family all came to support Jimmy and
of course we all missed Russell. Jessie had come from Logan and she had been
sick so Annie was trying to get her to stay home tonight and not go back to
Logan until tomorrow. Susanna is VERY pregnant and I had to laugh when she
said she awakened one morning and she "was showing" - Ha!!! She says she
feels really good and after seeing her so sick on the cruise that is GREAT.
Steve is waiting to hear about his application to go to law school and we all
know that is a very stressful time for them - BUT FUN!!! Lee Anna was teased
by their seminary teacher tonight because I guess she doesn't have a perfect
attendance - can any of you relate to that?????????? Annie and Ron had had
such a busy day today. It was their BYU Ward Stake Conference and Annie had
prepared lunch for the visiting General Authorities besides fixing lunch for
all of us and then she had a huge cake to serve after the Court of Honor to
everyone who had come. The cake was darling - she had cut it in pieces and
then put a miniature flag on each piece.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL
BASKETBALL TEAM TOO!!! They won the State Championship. Last week was a fun
and busy time for the Weinerts because the games were all held at Weber State
University in Ogden and Sarah danced with her D'Ette Group for each of the
games - I believe they lasted for four days and that's a lot of dancing!!!
Claire's brother, Steve and his daughter Amber,
have been visiting in Utah for a skiing vacation. Bob came over one afternoon
and we had a good visit and he took Margaret's Christmas lights down from her
roof. We had our lights put up together and I got mine down okay but I was
afraid I might get hers half down and half up and she wouldn't be able to get
her car out so I didn't dare do it. Bob had to get on a ladder to unhook them
and I don't believe I could have done that. Margaret has been sick all week.
Bob just called me and he said Claire has the flu - they usually drop in on
Sunday night if they can but they won't come tonight. They are going to Paris
this coming Friday so I hope she gets better soon. They will be gone all next
week and Bob said he will try to e-mail me from France. Bob says Michael is
doing really good - an investigator who speaks Spanish called Bob last week
from Italy so they could communicate in Spanish. It's exciting that Italy
will host the Winter Olympics in four years.
John - thank you for your phone calls and e-mail
messages. John wants to put the video Annie made of Lynn on the website and
he asked me to type in the words. I haven't started yet because I don't know
how I can send it to him if I type it on the WordPerfect format - he said Bob
could help me. Can you Bob? That seems like a tremendous task for John but
if anyone can do it, he can.
I need a project like that and will enjoy doing
it. I need a "mind stimulating" job - I am getting SO dense. I believe you
know that I write to some friends who are serving a mission in Russia - he is
Mission President there and was our Country Director in Bangkok. I wrote to
them last week and after sending it I realized that I had sent them the very
same news about a week ago so I sent a letter apologizing. AND in that letter
I wished them a Happy April Fool's Day. I had to send another letter telling
them I really knew it was March, not April. It's kinda scary when I do things
like that.
I hope the Roy Mellors are doing good. I'll bet
your daffodils and azaleas are blooming about now.
I went through Lehi on my way to Provo this
afternoon and you wouldn't believe all the construction equipment they have on
the farm property. They are hauling a lot of dirt to make a huge "hill" just
West from the 10 acre place - I told Ron about it and he said it sounds like
it might be for an overpass of some kind - kinda' sad to see it change SO
much.
That's all the news I think. I LOVE EACH ONE OF
YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH. PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU
DO. Grandma B XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
