Weekly Report April 8, 2001
Dearest Family,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JESSIE ON WEDNESDAY - WOW - 21
years old and I'm SO proud of all you have accomplished in your 21 years!!!
Your Mom tells me that you will be going to Boston for the Summer for a
technical writing internship and I think that is just WONDERFUL!!! Roy and
Patrice loved it there and when we visited them I was thrilled to see all the
historical things - you will be busy every minute and learning SO much.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ANNIE!!! I can't believe a
member of my family will be serving on a school board. That is a perfect
job for you and they are very lucky to have you willing to do that. I am
anxious to know how much of your time it is going to take - I was thrilled when
you were released from being Young Women's President but I should have known you
would get super busy doing something else for somebody. It will be a great
experience for your family and all of us. I felt so bad that I missed you
again when you came to Davis High School - I was just out for about an hour.
I will circle May 20th for Russell's farewell and I want to help you so
give me an assignment. I need to know the time of your Sacrament meeting.
CONGRATULATIONS TO LEE ANNA!!! Lee Anna was
elected to be in Timpview's Prom Royalty - I'm SO proud of you and I know you
will be beautiful. I remember when Jessie was in that and I loved all her
pictures - I hope there will be lots of pictures of Lee Anna too.
THANKS TO JOHN - he came by this afternoon and we
had the best visit we have had for a long, long time. He looks much too
thin to me but he didn't want to eat anything and I have learned better than to
coax him. He is home to take care of his income tax stuff and some of it
was here in the files so he had to come get it. I learned a lot about the
Jewish culture - his time in New York and Israel has been a real learning
experience for him and it's fun to talk to him about it. He has been in
Miami and also Atlanta and will go back to New York tomorrow. He is doing
good and the snowstorm we had overnight took him by surprise - hopefully he will
have Spring weather in New York when he gets back.
BARJI - Thank you for coming by to see me before you
went home to Oklahoma this afternoon. Boyd has been in Mexico for a golf
tournament and they will both be home tonight - I believe Barji gets there about
an hour before he does. Jeannie had made "chimichangos" and
Barji brought me one - it was heavenly!!! Barji and Jeannie and I went to
a framing place last Monday to get my family picture framed and then we went out
to lunch. It has been so fun to have her here for a few weeks but she was
MIGHTY anxious to get back with Boyd - THEY ARE SO HAPPY TOGETHER!!! There
was a good article and picture of Boyd in our paper telling about his golf
tournaments. Mary Ann, I hope your ears are better - she has had an
ear infection. Sarah is going to California soon for a D'Ette Dance
competition and she is excited about that.
CONGRATULATIONS TO KATIE - she is a new cheerleader
for her Junior High School. I'm proud of you Katie and I know you will
just love it - you're a "natural". Claire - I love the family
conference picture but where are you and Bob? I also loved the excerpts
from Michael's letters and I laughed at all his bike problems but I know they
are not laughing matters to him. I wish they would give him and his
companion one of the mission cars because it seems like they travel a lot.
ROY - when John came to see me tonight I told him
that I hadn't heard from you for awhile and he told me he had just talked to you
on his way to Farmington. He says you are doing good. Did you have a
good time in Gulf Shores and did you get to spend some time with Chris and
Wayne. I need to write to them. I hope they are planning a trip to
Utah this Summer. I want you guys to come too and stay a long, long time.
It is funny to listen to our weather news because
they keep telling us that the snow pack in the mountains is low and the water
level is dangerously low and water will be rationed in the Summer. It
seems to me that we have had rain, rain and more rain and then last night it
must have snowed all night. I was amazed when I awakened this morning and
saw all the trees covered with snow - I thought I had slept all Summer and we
were back into Winter - Ha!!!
I haven't done anything spectacular this week and it
has been a very fun and relaxing week. I went to Roger's Theatre on
Thursday night with my condo friends and saw "The Sound of Music".
Margaret had three of her grandchildren perform in it and they did such a
good job. One of her granddaughters is adopted from Colombia and she is
just darling - about 6 years old. She played the youngest child in the Von
Trapp Family and she just stole the show. I am thrilled when I see what a
group of talented local people can do to put on such a delightful program when
they want to.
I LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH. PLEASE
BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. GRANDMA B
