Weekly Report May 15, 2000

Dearest Family,

THE BIG NEWS FOR THIS LETTER IS THAT SUSANNA IS OFFICIALLY ENGAGED!!!  She has a gorgeous diamond ring and we are all very thrilled to become acquainted with Steve.  It is SO funny - I just found out his last name today.  It is Reeves and he is from Destin, Florida and his parents are going to come out in a week or so to meet Susanna.  WE JUST LOVE HIM!!!  They will be married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 12th and will have their reception at the Woolleys' home that evening.

It was WONDERFUL to talk to Ricky tonight - we all talked to him for about 2 1/2 hours.  He sounds great and the connection was so good it was like talking to him in the next room.  Barji talked to her friend, Boyd, this morning when he called his Mom for Mother's Day.  He will be home in about two weeks - I told Barji that I am even excited about having him come home.

When I think of all the exciting things that will be happening this Summer I think the Roy Mellors should just come out for the entire Summer.  You're invited to stay with me.

I just came home from a WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY DINNER AT THE WEINERT'S HOME!!!  It is late but I don't want this day to pass without telling all the Mother's in my family that I think you are the very best in the world and I am so very, very proud of all of you!!!  I also want to tell you that I am very, very grateful and proud to be your mother.  WHAT a  blessing it is to me to watch you in your families as you sacrifice and teach and love your children and they all love you so very, very much!!!  I'm also so very, very proud of the Fathers and the Uncles and Aunts who help and support each other.  WE HAVE A WONDERFUL FAMILY!!!

Thank you all for remembering me in special ways on Mother's Day - I appreciate it so very, very much.  I heard from Little Rock and San Francisco as well as from here in Utah and knowing how busy you all are makes all that so very meaningful to me!!!

I want to also thank John for all he does for me in helping with my finances.  He brought me my income tax forms today to mail in and I know that has meant many special trips to our accountant to get that taken care of as well as bringing them to me.  John - I don't take that for granted even though you probably think I do.  I will be happy when your triathlon is over this coming Saturday - I'm proud of you for undertaking something that strenuous - even if you don't finish it, it has been a great fitness program for you.  I'M PULLING FOR YOU TO FINISH IT THOUGH!!!

I went to Brigham City this morning to put flowers on my Mother's grave so I missed my church meetings.  I was riding past my old home there and noticed some friends just coming out from their church meetings so I stopped and we had a good visit.  The Weinert's church meetings don't start until 2 o'clock so I went to their meetings and I enjoyed them very much.  Rick conducted the meetings and he is a real "pro".  Jeannie is in her Relief Society Presidency so they are both very much involved.  It was fun to have Barji, Mary Ann and Sarah with us too.

Jeannie called and invited me to go to Salt Lake with her last Thursday night.  I had worked during the day so I had the night off.  Jeannie, Barji, Mary Ann and Sarah and I went to see the new movie in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building "The Testaments of One Fold and One Shepherd" - it is just excellent!!!  I am also happy to learn that the old movie "The Legacy" will continue to be shown in another place in that building.

I am in a real dilemma about tomorrow.  Margaret is sponsoring a big golf tournament at the Riverside Country Club in honor of her husband with the proceeds going to Utah State and she has invited me to go to their luncheon.  I am also supposed to go to Salt Lake to attend the funeral of that man who died in Thailand - many of my friends went to his viewing tonight but I couldn't go.  I will probably go to the funeral and I hope Margaret will understand.  A friend from South Ogden is going to pick me up at 10 a.m.

I went to the Roger's Theatre production of "Shenandoah" on Saturday with the "Condo Group" and then we went to Margaret's home afterwards for strawberry shortcake.  Mary Ann's friend, Matt, was in the play and he was very good - he even dances as well as sings.  The Brownings who used to own this condo are here from Houston so Margaret has planned lots of activities for them - she just runs around in circles for people.  She has invited me to everything but they have been close friends for many, many years and I don't feel comfortable in going with them to everything.  They will go to Park City on Tuesday for the rest of the week and then they will go to Star Valley next week - a WONDERFUL group of friends!!!

THANK YOU AGAIN SO VERY, VERY MUCH FOR EVERYTHING.  I LOVE YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.    Grandma B XXXXXXXOOOOOOOO
