Weekly Report August 2, 1999
Dearest Family,
I just wrote a two page letter and
it disappeared. I honestly don't know what I did wrong. This
hasn't happened to me for a long, long time. I will write a greatly
condensed version of the letter I just wrote and try to get it sent.
I appreciate SO VERY MUCH the help
Bob and Michael gave me yesterday. I tried to move the
"dollhouse" in from the garage and it was actually funny. I
got it stuck in the hall by the down stairs bathroom - I couldn't move it
because the piano was in the way and I couldn't move that by myself. I
worried that they wouldn't be able to make the turn after the first flight of
stairs but they did it - I THINK THEY ARE MAGICIANS!!!
I had dinner with the Bob Mellors
last night and then they came over to help me. The dinner was SO good
and then Bob gave a Family Home Evening Lesson that was SO special. He
had written a four page lesson on testimonies and how they grow and told so
many important things that sometimes we take for granted and also how
sometimes we expect miraculous things instead of listening to the still small
voice - I LOVED IT!!!
Ever since Roy and Patrice
told me they thought my living and dining rooms were too crowded I have tried
to figure out how I could change things - I just can't get rid of my
furniture. I decided to move the smaller antique China cabinet
downstairs so Bob and Michael moved that for me too. It looks SO
good down there and the dining room looks great too with a lot more room.
Claire came over this morning and helped me relocate some of my pictures to
fill in that empty space. She also helped me move the "children's
cupboard" downstairs. I will have fun playing with all those things
even if my granddaughters have outgrown them. I can't stand not having a
special place for my grandchildren when they come - television just doesn't do
it for me.
I met Chris Jordin at the airport
on Friday and took her to the Beehive Clothing Center so she could buy her
temple clothing. She enjoys going to the Dallas temple and is looking
forward to when the Memphis temple will be open. She went on to Montana
to visit her sister in Kalispell.
Annie is going to bring Russell
here this afternoon to have a little surgery by Bob to help him stop his
nosebleeds. I hope she will come see me - it seems like eternities since
I have had a good visit with her. I miss the Woolleys and John and
Julianna. Julianna will be home this week after spending time with her
friend who had just had a baby - John will be SO happy to have her home.
Margaret and some of my condo
friends just left to go to her home in Wyoming. I REALLY wanted to go
but I have too many things going on this week. I am going to host three
of the dancers who are coming from Thailand to dance in the International
Dance Festival and they are having a meeting tonight to tell us what we will
be expected to do. I wanted to get that information first hand.
The Volunteer Teachers are planning a dinner for them while they are here and
I am involved in that too. I ALSO NEED TO CLEAN MY HOME AND GET READY
FOR COMPANY!!!
I hope the Weinerts had a
WONDERFUL time in Sun Valley this weekend. They were going to take their
bicycles and go riding most of the time - I remember when we did that a few
years ago and had such a good time.
This Thursday is PaPa's 79th
birthday - he would surely be proud of all of you and I am too.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH. PLEASE BE
SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Grandma B
