Dearest Family,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MICHAEL ON SATURDAY!!!  I hope you have a very WONDERFUL 18th birthday Michael - you have turned into a very kind and sensitive young man and I want you to stay that way - I'm very proud of you!!!

I hope all the GREAT Men in my family had a very happy and well deserved Father's Day yesterday - I'm SO proud of all of you.  I sat in my condo all afternoon trying to decide if I should drive to Lehi or Brigham City to put flowers on my Father's grave or Lynn's grave and I didn't do either one - I hope they know I was thinking of them.  I had a WONDERFUL Father and a WONDERFUL Husband and I will be eternally grateful for their influence in my life.

BOB  AND BRETT - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME ALL DAY ON SATURDAY!!!  I need a psychiatrist to help me understand why a personal dock at Scofield is so important to me.  I had expressed this to Bob so he loaded up his trailer with 20 ft. steel poles,  "stressed" wood, outdoor carpet, etc., etc. for the dock and a larger refrigerator and micro-wave for the cabin kitchen.  It was a surprise to me that he was going to do this but when they came to my condo to pick up the refrigerator and micro-wave I couldn't resist going with them.  I wasn't any help but it was fun for me to be there (I hope I didn't interfere with a Father and Son outing).  Brett caught two beautiful fish and could have caught more but he helped his Dad instead.  I was amazed that he could bait his own hook and was very self sufficient.

I WAS SO SURPRISED TO SEE HOW STRONG BOB IS!!!  I think of him confined to pretty much inside work and not "muscle man" work but WOW is he ever strong.  The main reason for going to Scofield was to get the dock in the water and some of you will remember how heavy the "catwalk" going from the beach to the lake is.  He cleared out a place for it along the beach (it is really a pretty little entrance) and pushed the dock into the water.  Byrd was with us and he ran to his cabin to get his four-wheeler to help lift the catwalk but before he could get back Bob had lifted that big thing over many bushes and had it in place.  I have worried about Bob and hope he isn't suffering from "doing too much".  The poles he took are just perfect and the dock is secure in the water.  He put all the wood under the cabin deck and the carpet inside and when we can get more "manpower" to help he wants to fix it better - I THINK IT IS PERFECT AS IT IS!!!

I know how all of you feel about the cabin BUT I love it and appreciate SO very much Bob helping me make it better.  I'm always very sensitive about the bowery when Bob is there and Saturday was a classic reason why.  Tony Rudman who lives in the big house up on the hill had offered his home for a wedding Saturday afternoon and after the wedding they had a reception in the bowery.  They had a lot of cars and they kept parking right in back of Bob's car and trailer blocking him from getting out - they seemed completely unaware of what they were doing and he practically had to move the cars himself.  It takes a lot of understanding on our part when things like this happen but I hope we can realize that the people involved probably don't have much money for big receptions and they were in a "world all their own" - Ha!!!

Chris and Wayne will be at the cabin on Friday and they want to use it for about two weeks - Rick and Linda and their family will be with them the first few days and then Suzie will come.  They are caring for Suzie and Kens' son, Christopher, for the Summer and they will LOVE the coolness in Scofield and the cabin and dock are ready for them.

EMILY -Thank you SO much for your sweet e-mail messages.  I REALLY appreciate having some food ideas - that helps me A LOT!!!  I keep forgetting to tell you that I have seen '"YOUR" dog and did you know that John and Julianna have saved you the "pick of the litter"???  She is absolutely beautiful and you will LOVE her.  I talked to Julianna last week about her and she said she has a sweet disposition and if the other dogs are in her way she just calmly goes to another place to sleep or eat.  We can't have dogs in the condo (although I am finding out that some owners do have them) - I asked Margaret yesterday if it would be okay to have your dog here while you are here and she said "of course" and she is kinda' an authority here.  We will ask John and Julianna if we can borrow one of their kennels for her to sleep in.  Can you believe you will be here this coming Saturday?  I have not seen you for two years and I am NEVER going to let that happen again.

Yesterday was such a fun day for me.  I went to the Weinert's church because they were the speakers and I WAS SO PROUD OF THEM!!!  Rick had to leave yesterday morning to go to St. George for an emergency "pace maker" surgery so he missed it and we all felt bad about that.  Barji played a piano solo and also spoke, Sarah and Mary Ann played a violin solo and also spoke too and then Jeannie was the last speaker.  I went back to their home for a Father's Day dinner last night when Rick got home.  Barji has a friend boy "Kevin" who went to church with them and then came for dinner also - he is a nice young man from Idaho Falls, Idaho.  He will go to San Diego on a mission in July.  Two missionaries from this area came to visit with him while I was there and it was good to be with missionaries again - one is from New Hampshire and the other one is from Alaska.  I thought about you Ricky - Jeannie said they hadn't heard from you this week and she thinks maybe you have been transferred.  I remember how hard transfers are on the missionaries - you just get so close to the members in your area and then your Mission President transfers you.  You will later realize how important these transfers are.

Yesterday afternoon my neighbor, Margaret, called me from our condo pool.  She has two young women from Canada staying with her - she picked them up from the airport and will take them to BYU this morning so they can go to EFY (especially for youth) this next week.  Anyway they wanted to swim so she got some of her grandchildren to come (including Matt, Mary Ann's friend) and they really enjoyed the pool.  That is the first time I had been there and it is a nice pool - only 5 ft. deep but perfect for my grandchildren - SO COME!!!  I won't use the pool on Sundays and I know none of you will either but any other day will be good.

I AM PROUD OF MY TALENTED DANCING GRANDDAUGHTERS.  I went to "Clytie Adam's" dance recitals on Tuesday and Thursday nights and really they were some of the most beautiful affairs I have ever been to.  Sarah and Katie danced on Tuesday night and then Sarah, Laura and Katie danced on Thursday nights.  The recitals were held in "Kingsbury Hall" on the University of Utah campus and I appreciate very much Bob taking me on Tuesday night and Rick on Thursday night.  I still can't believe the costuming and the perfection of the dancers - WHAT WONDERFUL EXPERIENCES FOR YOUNG WOMEN!!!

I went to Orem on Wednesday for a luncheon honoring one of my friends on her 80th birthday.  I enjoyed being with some of my friends again and I got caught up on news of my old ward.  I stopped by to see Julianna and she was SO cute as she showed me the water damage in their home.  One of the pipes in their air conditioner broke and sprayed water all over their brand new carpet upstairs.- they had carpet spread out in their garage and their home trying to get it dry.  They are experiencing all the problems of home ownership and I feel bad for them but when they get everything settled they will be in "good shape".  I JUST LOVE THEIR HOME.  I told Julianna I wanted it back and she said "YOU CAN HAVE IT" - Ha!!!  JOHN - I AM PROUD OF YOU for giving your Saturday to the young men in your ward.  John is a Priest advisor and they had some kind of an outing in Jackson Hole (I think that's right).  I know it is hard to believe this but that is a GREAT way to serve right now in your life.  Julianna is working with the young women that age.

ANNIE - I'M PROUD OF YOU TOO FOR GIVING SO MUCH TIME TO THE YOUNG WOMEN IN YOUR WARD!!!  I went to see the Woolleys and visited with Lee Anna until Ann came home.  I will never forget seeing her come home and getting out of her car with her arms filled with groceries.  She had about an hour to prepare spaghetti and other foods because she was taking the mutual girls up to a cabin overnight "bunking party".  The family of one of the girls in her ward has a very nice cabin and they were going there.  I LOVE THE ADDITION TO THEIR HOME.  I am amazed that it has turned out the way it has - I didn't think they had that much yard room.  They will live in that part of their home when it is finished.  I finally discovered Jimmy who was downstairs on the computer - they always have A LOT going on in their home!!!

I am going to Yellowstone Park tomorrow with Ellen Mae and Mel and will be gone for three days.  We are coming home Thursday night.  There is a special "melodrama" put on in Jackson Hole and they have talked about it for years and they are SO WONDERFUL to take me and our other friends, Margaret Jost and Carol Dunford to see it.  I haven't been in Yellowstone since Daddy and I left our mission so I am very excited to go.  Mel and Ellen Mae are SO MUCH FUN TO BE WITH.  THEY ARE VERY SPECIAL FRIENDS!!!

I think Bob is doing such a GREAT job in planning our reunion.  Carl Mellor will do a good job with the food and they have a wonderful place for the kind of reunion we want.  I think it is important that we don't just have a "picnic" for our reunions.  His place is perfect for getting genealogy and business done.

I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH.  PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.  Grandma B  (Emily- Katie and I will be at the airport at 5 p.m. on Sat.)
