Dearest Family, October 24, 1998 7:30 a.m.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SUSANNA TODAY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PATRICE AND ROY TOMORROW! I am so worried that I will forget someone's birthday - it will be good to be home and call on the phone if I forget. THIS IS REALLY BIRTHDAY MONTH ON MY CALENDAR!!! I have always thought Roy and Patrices' marriage was made in heaven because their birthdays are the same day and Patrice's Mom's is the same as mine. I hope you all have WONDERFUL birthdays - I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU AND I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!!

CLAIRE - Thank you SO much for your little messages - I can always count on you to keep me up to date and that means so much to me. BOB - Thank you SO much for your message last night too. I came to the computer to write a short note but I kept getting the message "your socket is not connected" and when that happens there is something wrong with the central system so I just waited and not it is okay.

I had my Friday group of students come in last night - they have become almost like family and it was good to see them. They live on the other side from where I live so it is nice for them to come. I had Myrth do some of the teaching and she did a good job - the people here REALLY like her so she will be just fine. It is funny to spend time like this with a person from a small town like Rexburg who has never lived any other place (Burley, Idaho for a little while) - she thinks the world revolves around Idaho - Ha!!! I wanted her to see the pottery village where some teachers took us and it is so unique but she said "Oh, I have seen plenty of pottery in Rexburg". She shakes much worse than I do so if you don't hear from me for a period of time it is because she has hit the wrong buttons on the computer - you can't imagine how many times I have had to try to straighten things out - Ha!!! She can't get her laptop to work and Marc says he is going to take this computer when I leave and give it to another couple so she will have to get her laptop to work SOMEHOW!!! She is very active and has a lot of energy but she wants to do the things SHE WANTS TO DO and that's okay!!!

We have to go to Lopburi in a couple hours. My friends, Somjit and Lamchuan, insist on driving us there - it takes about 3 hours to drive and I have tried to talk them out of it but they insist. They took us shopping yesterday - it was a school holiday. We will teach a group of people in Lopburi from 5 - 7 tonight and I have no idea their ages or their ability in English so it will be fun!!! Myrth and I will spend the night with Nurack and his family and then come home tomorrow after church. Did I tell you they are going to put missionaries in Lopburi fulltime in November - I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THAT!!!

It is SO much fun for me to have you all worrying about my condo, my apartment, etc. - tell me about the condo that John has found that will be finished sooner than the other one.

I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH. PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL. Grandma B
