Thailand Letter

Dearest Family, September 7, 1998 8:25 p.m.

Today is Julianna's birthday and “I” received a package from her - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SENDING ME THE PACKAGE WITH MY PRESCRIPTIONS, also letters and magazines!!! I appreciate that so very much and I am amazed - it was marked that you sent it on August 29th and I still haven't received the Visa Card John mailed around August 17th.

ANNIE - THANK YOU TOO FOR ORDERING THE PRESCRIPTIONS AND TO BOB FOR GETTING THROUGH TO DR. ANDERSON.

We had our Teacher In-service Meeting yesterday and I don't know anymore now than I did before we had it. Marc did say they were having real difficulties in getting single sisters to come to Thailand and that Virginia and I would probably be replaced by a couple. PraPa, my first School Director, is trying to help me find a better place to live. I have found that men think differently than women - as if I didn't already know that!!! Mr. Witt is such a fine man but he kept bringing up all the things he liked about the condo hotel room when in reality the thing he really liked is that we could walk to our school and they wouldn't have to provide transportation for us.

BOB AND JOHN - Thank you for “nailing down” the condo. I liked the idea of a penalty for each day it is not finished on time - that way, they will be more motivated.

BOB - Was your friend Steve Ott water skiing when he got hit in the eye? I have lost track of all the seasons but I don't believe they are snow skiing in Utah yet. I love “The Living Scriptures” and the Docudrama about the Pioneers and the Handcarts sounds great.

I had a letter from Anne Smith today and she said that John and Julianna were the “Prayer People” for church yesterday. She said she could hear Lynn as John was praying - spiritual but to the point - I LOVED THAT!!!

It is raining cats and dogs again - I believe we will be swept away into the Chao Phraya River - Ha!!!

I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH. PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL. Grandma B
