Thailand Letter

Dearest Family, June 22, 1998

BOB AND CLAIRE - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE WONDERFUL PICTURES!!! I can't believe how clear they are - the one of PaPa in his Navy Uniform is better than the original. The one of Bob with the children is excellent and Bob looks so contented and happy and of course that makes me happy too. That was SO thoughtful of you to do that for Father's Day and I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH!!!

JEANNIE - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WONDERFUL LETTER FOR FATHER'S DAY - how very sweet of you!!! I just about cried when I read that your temple experience was delayed - that must have been very difficult to have to turn around and go back home because of the emergency call Rick had - I was SO happy to read that Ricky was “okay about it”. I wish SO much that I could be there to go with you. I loved getting “caught up” on all the news of the children - it has been quite awhile since I had a detailed letter from you. You surely do keep busy and that's just wonderful.

Claire - I awakened in the middle of the night last night and got up and took notes so I could thank you properly for all the things you did for me. First of all - I LOVE THE MRS. CAVANAUGH'S CANDY (I just opened the box of cherry chocolates tonight and I am NOT going to share them - they're fabulous) - I shared the mindy mints though!!! I wore my “cow” socks on Saturday and everyone thought they were darling - I will LOVE those and the “dogs” will be an even bigger hit. I am enjoying the Crystal Light SO MUCH - for some reason the water here just doesn't quench my thirst. I also appreciate the index cards - they come in handy so much. Thank you too for writing to Helen, Janet and Darlene.

Bob - don't forget to write about the Big Pagoda in your journal. The picture with Michael and Claire in front of it turned out and I will send it to you.

I must close because there are a million people here and Helen is waiting for me to finish. I am SO glad that you understand after being here.

I NEED HELP!!! I must speak in Sacrament Meeting this next Sunday and they asked me to choose a prophet to talk about. I decided to speak about Harold B. Lee because he ordained Daddy a High Priest and he was the one who made the Little Rock Arkansas a Stake and he stayed with us. DO ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION THAT WOULD HELP ME? I absolutely have nothing to work with.

I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH. PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL. Grandma B
