Dearest Family, June 10, 1998

It was SO funny, they called us from the school this morning and said they wouldn't be here for us until about 9.am. - just as I was writing my letter they came so I had to stop.

I wanted to tell you that Bob, Claire and Michael have gone to Phuket for two days on the beach - they left early this morning and will be home on Friday p.m. I hope SO much that they get in a lot of swimming and that it doesn't rain.

I also forgot to tell you that I MADE Bob and Claire ride the city bus and go to where I used to live - in Teptip Village. It took us about five hours to get there and back but I wanted so much for them to see that part of Bangkok. They have air conditioning in their townhouse now and it really makes it a lot nicer.

I want them to go to Ayutthaya this weekend on the train but I'm not sure they will go. It will be a long hot ride and they will see Thailand in a way that not many tourists get to see but Bob said he could walk there too and see those same sights - WE WILL SEE!!!

ANNIE - Thank you for your letter - your “High Adventure” sounded like something you would not choose to do and I AM PROUD OF YOU!!! I hope LeeAnna is having a good time - just think, I would have been there too if I hadn't come here.

JOHN - Thank you for your letters too and the help you are giving us with our computer. Bob and Michael have spent a lot of time working on it and I'm sure it will be a big improvement. You sound busy!!!

BRETT & JIMMY - Thank you for your “little” message too.

I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT I WON'T BE RELEASED UNTIL AT LEAST OCTOBER 25TH AND MAYBE NOT UNTIL NOVEMBER 25TH. I am a little disappointed but I will stay for the full 18 months if I can be busy and help but if I can't be that way I think I should come home. Virginia and I came one month later than the rest of the English teachers so Marc Hall told Virginia he would like us to stay until Nov. 25th. I know it will all work out for the best - our replacements will come on October 5th and I guess they will move in with those of us who are here. I didn't stay for the meeting on Sunday because I wanted to be with my family.

I love each one of you so very, very much. Please be so very, very careful in everything you do. Grandma B
