I AM SO THRILLED THAT BOB AND MICHAEL HAVE PERFECTED THE ROOT BEER RECIPE!!!
I guess they won't really know if they have perfected it until they taste it in two weeks. I want to know about the recipe and where you got it - did Roy have it??? Does it still call for yeast??? Ann - do you remember when PaPa offered some to Pete Wiggins Jr. when he came home from his mission? He wouldn't even taste it because he thought it was breaking the word of wisdom. MY HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED FOR HIM!!!
I'm SO happy to hear that Bob has been digging a place for storage under his deck - not that I am happy about the storage place but it always pleases me when my children do some “do it yourself” projects. I know there are many things you can't do but it is “character building” when you do it yourself - Ha!!!
Bob - I laughed right out loud when I read about your wanting to know if you needed to bring a jacket. The only place you would need it would be in your hotel room or dining room. You will absolutely cook here!!! You will probably want to go to church on Sunday, June 7th and June 14th but don't bring a suit jacket for that - a short sleeved shirt with tie will be great. You will be able to buy shirts just down the street from the hotel if you want to. I would bring very little if I were you and bring things that are very cool. I have had Gulati make me some clothes and I wanted them lined and they are just like sleeping bags - so bring things that “breathe”. A calculator would come in handy to figure out the exchange rates on things you want to buy - you can buy them here all over the place and they are cheap but if you have a small favorite one you might want to bring it. I have bought one here and you can use that if you want to - it is very small and I think it is hard to see.
I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU TO GET HERE!!!
We are going to a meeting with our District Supervisor in a few minutes. He is so funny - he tells me that he can understand Helen because she talks like a man but he can't understand me. The Thai people are very frank - they tell you how it is!!! They are also very sweet. There was a woman who came up to me last night at the Ministry - she wants me to teach her daughter, the son of a friend, and two daughters of another friend. I told her I could teach on Friday night - she wants me to teach them right after my time at the Ministry so that would be teaching from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays. I told her I couldn't do that and she said, “Are You Tied?” - they don't pronounce their r's. I don't know how it will turn out. I AM CANCELING ALL MY NIGHT TEACHING WHILE MY FAMILY IS HERE!!!
Thank you Bob for helping Helen. I haven't told her anything - I will let you handle that when you come. Please tell me how much the pills cost you? I believe she is getting a little better - she takes LOTS of medication.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY, MUCH. PLEASE BE SO VERY, VERY CAREFUL. Grandma B
