Dearest Family,
I just came home from visiting with Bishop Patch. JULIANNA - THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THE MANY TEACHING HELPS YOU SENT TO ME!!! I can't believe it!!! I asked for one book and you sent the whole store - they are greatly needed and we will LOVE using them. I am SO excited to spend time going through them. The HUGE book will be SO good to share with the children - it's big enough so they can see it from all over the room. Bishop Patch said all the people at NuSkin were so impressed with it and enjoyed looking through it. He said it came in a box but he didn't have room in his suitcase for the box so he took it out of the box and he worried that it would get all crumbled but it is PERFECT!!! I want to pay for them - they are expensive books!!! Please have John give you the money from my account. We have looked and looked here and they just don't have things like that here!!!
It was SO good to visit with Bishop Patch. He said you have done wonders with my yard and he said the front yard looks twice as big as it did before you did all the trimming. He also said that Julianna has been working so very hard in the yard. I know you will be happy when Winter comes and the snow covers everything up. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!! Virginia is reading the Time magazine about Princess Dianna now - I will read it before going to bed. How very thoughtful of you to send that. I feel like I have had a visit with John and Julianna - Bishop Patch says they are doing great but they're very busy!!!
I packed up all my pictures and took to him. He was SO sweet and said he would be happy to take them home for me. He also said he couldn't imagine anyone taking that many pictures. I hope you will find time to look at them when you get together for conference.
They are having the grand opening for NuSkin tomorrow and everyone was very, very busy getting things ready. They have two floors in the most beautiful building in Bangkok - VERY IMPRESSIVE!!! It was like going back into civilization to be in that building - WE ARE REALLY IN THE SLUMS!!!
Bishop Patch had his driver pick us up at our school at 3:30 - she was supposed to be there at 3 o'clock but she got lost. We can't imagine how she ever found us - she said she finally had to go to the police station to get directions. It took us almost an hour to get to the NuSkin offices. THEN - she brought us home and we got lost again and it took us two hours to get home. This has been a fun but rather hectic day.
I learned some sad news about the Steels. Their oldest daughter, Cindy, is an attorney in Salt Lake and she has two little boys. She has just been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. Jim and Corena were in Austria on a medical mission and they have been released and have gone to an apartment in Provo. They sold their home while they were on their mission. I am so sad about that.
I love you all so very, very much. PLEASE BE SO VERY CAREFUL!!! Grandma B
