Thailand Letter

Bangkok, Thailand
Dearest Family,
LAURA - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WONDERFUL LETTER. VIRGINIA READ IT WITH ME AND WE BOTH SAID IT WAS ONE OF THE SWEETEST LETTERS WE HAVE EVER READ. I'm SO glad you finally got your birthday present and that you liked it - I guess I sent it "surface mail" and that is what took it so long!!! The King's picture is on EVERYTHING - he is Rama 1X - I'll tell you all about the Kings in Thailand when I get home. They have very interesting stories!!!
We have had such a busy day - we are teaching in a new school and absolutely no one in the school speaks any English. It is SO frustrating. We talk to them and we get these blank expressions back
Dearest Family,
I had just started a letter to Laura when some people came by to have an English lesson. I guess it got lost when I tried to save it. So I will write another one.
Laura - your letter was so sweet. Virginia and I read it together and we both said it was one of the sweetest letters we have ever read. I'm so glad you finally got your birthday present - I guess I sent it surface letter. I am SO far from a post office that I don't know how to send things and the men at the post office are absolutely no help at all - they just look at me and smile. I will have to tell you about the Kings of Thailand when I come home - the little thing I sent you is one of them - I believe I sent the one of the present King - Rama 1X. They have interesting stories.
Bob - I hope your Stake Fireside goes really well- I can't believe all the musical talent in Utah - it's wonderful to have that as an accompaniment. It is SO wet here with all the rain - I laughed about the rain in Colombia being so much you thought you should just wear wet suits and paint ties on them. I washed some clothes by hand about three days ago and they're still not dry. We didn't get the picture you mentioned but we did get the one from the cabin deck and I LOVE IT.
John - you are such a "softie" when it comes to dogs. I know Frauie is lucky to have you care for her because I never did really like her - but I'll admit that I miss her now. Thank you and Julianna for picking up all the pieces I left undone in my life - I know my home is very, very much in need of repair and a good cleaning. I LOVE to hear about the sun coming up while you are in your office - you surely do go to work early - I'M PROUD OF YOU!!! Have I told you about all the dogs around here? They are as gentle as the Thai people.
The people are going to England and want to learn English fast - they are such nice people and it is fun to have them come. There were six of them.
Thanks again sweet Laura. I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH. Grandma B
