Thailand Letter

Bangkok, Thailand

Dearest Family,

Here I am again. WHAT JOY IT IS TO COME HOME AND FIND SUCH WONDERFUL LETTERS AND PICTURES. Bob- I can't believe you. Those pictures are absolutely perfect and I didn't know you could even send pictures on e-mail.

These are the pictures he sent: Michael in his "working uniform" and at the bagging contest for Smiths - what a good looking young man you are Michael. The one of Katie, Brett, Laura and Michael and little Cassie in your den is so clear and they look like I could talk to them. Cabin pictures and I almost cried when I saw them. The lake looks SO good and it is much fuller than it has ever been at this time of year and the cabin looks wonderful. It was SO fun to see those "ribbons" still on the windows to keep the swallows from nesting there - they have lasted for a long, long time unless you have replaced them. Brett and Katie and even John sitting in the living room of the cabin - you all look good enough to eat!!! I LOVED the ones at Alcatraz too with Brett and Katie and also the one of Claire and Brett with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. BOB AND CLAIRE - you look so distinguished with your glasses on - I can't tell if they are plastic rimmed or not but I like them. When you get tri-focals you can't get plastic rims - Ha!!!

THANK YOU JUST MILLIONS. It makes me realize that there really is life after a mission. I haven't been able to print the pictures but that's okay - I can access them and see them whenever I want.

I worry about Virginia - she has received two e-mail messages since we got on the internet. I have told her that Bob would be happy to call her family in Salt Lake to see if they have received her messages but she doesn't want to do that yet.

I had a letter from Terry Woods. Dan had sent her the letter I had sent to them from Thailand. She was on her way to Mississippi for an agility competition show with 8 dogs - six of her own and two of one of her friends. I can't relate to that. She said she thinks that her Mother thinks I have gone over the edge by coming to Thailand - Ha!!!

School was fun today. They had an ear, nose and throat surgeon there to examine the children and also a dentist. The students in two Pratoms (grades) were in the health class all day and afterwards they had a big ceremony and asked us to present them with their certificates and gold pins. We still can't figure out why they think we are SO important but it is fun. We were sent home with another basket filled with goodies.

I had a letter from Polly Taylor today and she said the Montana City Council voted 8-3 to approve the annexation of the grounds for the temple. It failed 6-5 last October. It looks like it will go through now - they will have the "special review process" to address neighborhood compatibility about the temple plans on October 27th.

THANKS SO VERY, VERY MUCH FOR KEEPING UP WITH ME. I LOVE YOU BUSHELS.

Grandma B

(written later that day)

It is about 5 o'clock in the morning here and I just remembered that you need to put de-con and bar bait around the cabin. I put lots of de-con inside the cabin and lots of bar bait on the outside, close to the cabin. This will help to keep the mice and rats away and if you don't do it there could be many that would go into the cabin.

John, you need to put a lot of de-con inside the storage shed or you will have mice come into the garage.

It is hot here but I know that it will be cold in Utah before long.

I love you all SO much. Grandma B
