Dearest John & Julianna; Roy, Patrice, Emily, Timothy & Jesse; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, Lee Anna & Jimmy:
We just finished our presidency meeting. My Home Making Counselor is in New York - her granddaughter has been very ill with what they thought was Ryes Syndrome (sp.?) and has been comatose for over a week. I talked to Anne on Saturday and she told me she is much better and will probably be released from a hospital in Philadelphia this coming Tuesday. It wasn't what they thought it was - it was pancreaitis. Anyway - Anne was in charge of
a lot of things that I have had to take care of.
I hope you are all doing great!!! John came over on Saturday for a little while - to get his mail. I am going to be unhappy when they get a permanent address for their mail because then I will never see them. John had called Carl Clark in Lehi - he is the one wanting to have the gas line put along the frontage of my property there. I feel just fine about it and agree with John that it should be done - it would help the property owners there who are building homes and it is inevitable that it will develop.
The Woolleys came over last night and that was fun as usual. I haven't seen
them for a long time. Ann had prepared a questionnaire about the Book of Mormon and it was hard!!! I am proud of the children who knew most of the answers - they, along with Ron, gave Ann a hard time to "spice things up" and we REALLY had a good time. Susanna wasn't able to come and I missed her. JESSIE HAS HER DRIVER'S PERMIT!!! She drove over with one of her parents in the car - they always bring two cars so those who have to leave early can go home. It's hard for me to believe my grand-daughters are old enough to drive!!!
Mary Ann and Sarah are coming to spend the weekend with me and I am looking forward to that. Rick has a business meeting in Phoenix and one of the couples he and Jean are going with will have children with them and they need a babysitter so they are taking Barji too. They are going to leave Ricky home alone and Jean will bring Mary Ann & Sarah to my home on Thursday about noon. They will be home on Sunday. Ricky - if you decide to come stay with me, I would love that!!!
Roy & Patrice - I go visiting teaching to a family that lives quite close to me. He has been transferred to Pennsylvania so they are selling their home. The man who has bought it used to teach at Brown University. They didn't know how to spell his name but it starts with a "B" and sounds French. He teaches Anatomy and transferred to BYU. He is
originally from Salt Lake and she is from Boston. They have 4 children, two girls 13 - 11 and 2 boys, 18 months and one younger. They won't move in until probably the first of May - it will be interesting to meet them. I miss Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie and keep wondering how Brett's math homework is coming. He is studying the metric system and I tried to help him - that is a laugh!!! I'm sure they still have
a lot of snow because we do too - it hasn't snowed lately but it has been SO cold that it isn't melting.
I had Relief Society Board Meeting here last Tuesday night. I made Chris Jordin's hot apricot nectar punch and it was so good. I have recipes for other hot punches but they are all red and I don't serve red punch in my home - I have had too many bad experiences with spills.
Chris called me on Saturday and we had a good visit. She is doing much better - I guess she "really" was sick for quite awhile. She loves your new home, Roy & Patrice. She said she stopped the other day and went in to where the men were working. When I told Ann that she said, "What a snoop" - Ha!!! She really is just interested and probably wants to report to me. She doesn't think you will be in for a long time - if it's okay with you, I would like to come out in the Fall instead of the Spring this year. That way you will probably be in your new home. We will see you in Utah the week of July 4th and if you don't get into your home until April that will spread the visits out more. WHATEVER!!! I don't want you to worry about having me visit when you are involved in your remodeling.
The Orem Women's Club Fashion Show is going to be on March 30th. They are going to have the tickets on Feb. 21st and I will buy enough for you like I did last year. Claire, Laura & Katie; Jean, Barji, Mary Ann & Sarah; Ann, Susanna, Jessie & Lee Anna; Julianna and Cheryl (my sister in law). I know that in previous years that has conflicted with Claire's Stake Relief Society Meeting but I believe the Fashion Show is a week later this year. ANYWAY - please let me know if you will not be able to come. I know that is a long ways away to plan for. I would like to get the same table we had last year and if all of you can come I will also get another table - they have tables that seat 10 and tables that seat 8 and I can "work it out" if I just know. Cheryl can come and Ann said last night that they would be able to come. It's a fun time to have Cheryl with us - she's such a fun gal. They are going to have different specialty stores put on the fashion show.
The craft for our Home Making meeting this week is going to be "Oil Potpourri Heart Bottles" - the sister who is teaching it asked me to bring the bottle Julianna & John made with all the shells in it for all of us to show the class. I have that on display and she has seen it.
My little Frauie is acting strange and I don't know what to do about it. It is still quite cold and she is sleeping on "top" of her doghouse - I have put blankets up there but it still isn't warm enough. She is fine during the day and eats just the same but THAT IS WEIRD!!!
