HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JESSE THIS THURSDAY!!! He will be two years old and traditionally this is the "negative" stage - he surely seems like a happy go lucky kind of little boy to me as I hear him in the background when I talk to them. I
love to look at his picture that was taken in his bathing suit during the Summer- such a healthy little guy. I MISS HIM!!!
The Roy Mellors have bought a home South from where they are living now. They told me a while back they were looking at it but I promised. I wouldn't say anything in my newsletter until they had closed on it and they did that last week. They are going to do some remodeling on the kitchen and don't want to move in until that is completed so they probably won't be moving until after the first of the year. They did such a wonderful job in remodeling the home they are in now - they are real "pros" and know contractors to contact, etc. Little Timothy is SO excited because he says he will have a bigger yard to play in. Emily's playmate, Allie, will be moving to Mountain Home soon so it will be good for Emily to have other friends to become close to. Timothy had a birthday party on Saturday - 16 LITTLE FRIENDS DRESSED IN THEIR HALLOWEEN COSTUMES - Wow - I hope Roy & Patrice survived!!!
The Bob Mellors are in California for a few days. Bob was going to attend some medical meetings in Monterey. I hope they have a fun trip. I hear such negative things about California - I'm glad I don't live there. It has always seemed like a "fantasy" place to me -
every time I have been there I have loved it but they have certainly had their share of
catastrophes.
John came by last night for a few minutes and it was SO good to see him - I haven't seen of heard from Julianna since we got together for conference. John's good friend from Billings' days was here for the weekend and they had gone to Moab on a bicycle trip. Reid Folsom and his brother Scott are favorites of mine and Reid's friend Todd was with them. Reid has just started his dental practice in Washington State - in a small town close to Lewiston, Idaho. He seems SO happy and had a picture of their two little children - a girl and a boy. Reid and his wife came for John & Juliannas' wedding - do you remember them?
Do you all remember our missionary friend, David Taylor? He sang at Daddy's funeral and he and his wife, Polly have been such special friends. He went to work at Viewpoint about two years age. He came by to see my on Friday to tell me he was resigning and going to work for CBS in Salt Lake. I'm kinda' glad because I have known he wasn't very happy - he loves television work!!!
The Woolleys came over last night and Ann had prepared such a good Family Home Evening lesson. I think John & his friends would have enjoyed it but they couldn't stay. I always feels SO stupid when they give their lessons - I wish they would prepare me so I could read up on them and be a LITTLE smarter. It was taken from Matthew last night about Jesus and his disciples and I couldn't figure out for the longest time if it were before or after his crucifixion - she had visual aids showing the time line of the
Pentecost and the transfiguration and the Peter's life during that time. I WAS IMPRESSED!!! Rons' parents and Mimi had been with them for the weekend and had gone to the Hawaii-BYU game-BYU won 45-7- it was a beautiful weekend. Jessie has been ill with strep - she goes TOO FAST all the time.
MARY ANN HAS A FRACTURED FOOT. Jeannie called to tell me and she felt SO had because she had not given Mary Ann the attention she needed - WOW, can I ever relate to that!!! When she wouldn't stop complaining about how bad her foot felt, Jeannie finally decided to take her to the doctor and when they x-rayed it they found the fracture. She will be in a foot cast for a long time until it heals. When they had come to see me last Sunday Mary Ann had worn house slippers - I got some of my shoes for her but she wouldn't wear them to go see Elaine - now I know why!!!
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! Sarah is in the Nutcracker Ballet that will be performed on November 18th at Weber State University. Jeannie has bought 15 tickets and they are $8 each. This is a different Nutcracker presentation from the one in Salt Lake - this is put on by Clytie Adams, their ballet teacher from previous years and will be WONDERFUL!!! I am definitely going and anyone who would like to go with me from this part of the state is welcome. Jeannie says there is absolutely no pressure to come but PLEASE LET HER KNOW AS SOON AS YOU CAN.
We had such a terrible accident in our neighborhood last week. I wouldn't mention it but since I have teenage driving grandchildren I want to impress upon you how very important it is to keep your attention ALL THE TIME on your driving and if you happen to be in an accident to NOT TRY TO GET AWAY FROM YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. You should never admit to anything you have done wrong at the time because they can get you into a lot of unnecessary legal problems - they can be straightened out later. A young high school student was pulling some skate boarders on the back of his pickup truck on his way home from school - he was distracted when one of them let go and he lost control of his truck and it careened into the sidewalk and hit two girls. The most seriously hurt girl is my neighbor - she had nine hours of surgery on Saturday to "put her pelvic area back together". The young driver tried to back up and get away which is very wrong!!!
I have had a fun but busy week - organizing meals for that young woman's family, another neighbor woman had a heart attach, went to two book reviews, went to a 50th wedding open house at the country club and to a luncheon at a darling restaurant!!!
