Dearest John & Julianna; Roy, Patrice, Emily, Timothy & Jesse; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

It almost feels like fall outside this morning. I don't know what the temperature is but it is cooler than it has been. I don't believe my tomatoes are going to get ripe before they freeze - I have had lots of good yellow squash and zucchini.

Bob & Michael - I hope you are having a good time in the "Wilderness" by Durango, Colorado. They left me a message on my phone on Saturday as they were passing by on the freeway. It always makes me happy when I hear about the Fathers in our family spending special times like that with their sons. There is absolutely nothing better that you can do with your time. I hope you don't see any rattlesnakes but I'll bet you do. I also hope you find some good fly fishing lakes. Are you staying in tents? There were six other young men going with them.

Woolleys - I hope you have had a good time at the Woolley Family Reunion in Idaho. Ron has had a busy schedule and he was going to have to meet Ann and the children up there - I believe he was flying into some place to close to Jerome. Bev and Russ have a cabin somewhere up there and the family was going to paint it as part of their reunion. I'll be anxious to hear if they got it all done. I missed having them cover last night for Family Home Evening. The "Rose Tree" that Ann gave me for Mother's day is in full bloom for the second time - I can't grow roses so I am very happy with that.

Patrice - thank you so much for your sweet note and those darling pictures of the children. I would have bought lots of glasses of lemonade even at 50 cents a glass - your stand looked so inviting. Emily - I loved your hat and I think I have one just about like it. What a fun way to spend a Summer afternoon!!! I didn't know you were going to your Church camp - where did you go? I'm sorry Patrice & Emily got sick - it must have been something like the 24 hour flu. I JUST LOVE the picture of little Jesse in your wading pool - he is one husky little guy and is SO happy - I miss the children!!!

John is home from the "Siggraph" trade show in Los Angeles. He said it was very worthwhile and fun but lots of work and he was tired and glad to be home. He had a T-Shirt on that was advertising the show to be held in New Orleans next August - I can't imagine a worse place to be in August than New Orleans. John is probably all through with his school work now and looking forward to graduation. I will treat anyone who can come for it to lunch afterwards - this Friday, the 18th at 8 a.m. in the Marriott Building.

We have changed our plans to go to St. George for the Tuacahn Program. Susanna and Jessie couldn't go on Friday so we are not going until Saturday morning. The cheerleaders can only miss one game and since Friday night is Timpview's first game they would have had to miss it and then they couldn't miss another one all year. I don't like to miss Sunday church but my counselors is in Germany.

I hope the Weinerts are doing fine. Jeannie and the girls were planning to come for John's graduation and then go to St. George right after but since we have changed our plans I believe Jeannie is going to work on Friday.

There are so many things going on, I hope I can keep up. I have something on every single day and night this week. I really should clean house for my education Week company but I probably won't - they'll have to take me as they find me.

I went to Logan last Wednesday with don & Cheryl. Dee's son, Brennen and his wife JoDee, were sealed together as a family in the Logan Temple. It was an absolutely beautiful ceremony. They have been married for five years and have three beautiful little children - two boys and a baby girl. All of Dee's children had been together for the previous week to a reunion at their cabin in Island Park - they had 43 people there. Five of Dee & Judys' children and their spouses were in the temple and the other three waited outside. We all went to their church ward building for a buffet dinner - it was very well done and it was fun to see their grandchildren. Judy's new husband was there and he seems very nice - Judy looked very pretty and seemed very happy.

Don has been having trouble with his back. He says it is because he spent three hours picking beans in his garden in Lehi. He has been on muscle relaxants and he said they made him dizzy and he fell in his irrigation ditch so he quit taking them. He is on a strong pain killer and didn't want to stay for the dinner at the ward so we left and had dinner at Maddox's - it was WONDERFUL!!!

I am having bids made on putting in a new furnace in my home. I have had three companies come to bid on it. Two of them say I only need one larger capacity furnace and the other one wants to put in two furnaces - one for the downstairs. I'm going to talk to my home teacher, Steve Frisby, and get his recommendation. I already have all the duct work in for one furnace with part of the heat going to the downstairs but it would have to have some things done to make it work better - that makes the most sense to me rather than have all that taken out to make room for another furnace - the price is about the same.

Claire - we are having the "Meat Man" from Smiths here in Orem come for our Homecoming meeting this Thursday. I have worried that I might get you in trouble because my Homemaking Counselor went to Smiths' Corporate people - BUT they're happy to do it!!!
