Dearest John & Julianna; Roy, Patrice, Emily, Timothy & Jesse;, Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

I just finished typing up my agenda for our Presidency Meeting and since I have about half an hour before they come I will start my letter.

WOW, is it ever cold here this morning!!! It was 17 degrees in Provo last night and I have my heat turned up high and the furnace in John's room turned on and will probably light the fireplace when the other people come. I love this kind of weather but I don't like to drive in it.

Jean and Rick came home yesterday afternoon from their trip to the St. Thomas Islands. They came home to a dirty house - I never did vacuum and we had just come home from church and we were putting dinner on the table when they came in. I felt bad but I was SO happy that I could get home before it got dark that I just left the mess.

I had such a fun time with their children and also being in Farmington. I had told my friend Ellen Mae that I was going to be there so she arranged to spend Thursday and Friday afternoons with me. We went to lunch both days and then shopped - she took me to some fun places. BOB & CLAIRE - THEY HAVE THE BEST SANDWICHES AT THE TEDDY BEAR. It is a cute little place just at the end of Mutton Hollow and to the street that goes into Kaysville. We had been there with Ellen Mae and Mel before Daddy died and we enjoyed it then too - the sandwiches are similar to Subway but even better and they give you a donut with your sandwich - their donuts are heavenly.

The children were SO good and I loved being with them. Yesterday morning when we awakened there was SO much snow on the ground and it was still snowing when we walked to church. I was glad to be able to have Ricky help me so I wouldn't slip. I asked him to please wait for me after church so I could hang on to him walking home. WELL - they had a missionary farewell at their ward and it was COMPLETELY filled so I told him to not wait too long because if I couldn't get a seat in the Relief Society room I would just go home. He got out earlier than I did and I couldn't find him so I just started home - I was so thrilled to see him walking back to get me - he had gone home and found I wasn't there and came back to help me - he is a very SPECIAL YOUNG MAN!!!

We came back to Orem on Friday evening so I could go to my Relief Society meeting on Saturday morning. The children were invited to spend the night at the Woolleys so I took them there - Ann had made pizza for them. Mary Ann had a Nutcracker practice on Saturday afternoon so we stayed here until 2:30. I picked the children up at Ann's and knew that we had plenty of time to get to the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake by 4 o'clock. WELL - we got to the Point of the Mountain and ran into the worst blizzard I have ever driven in. I couldn't believe it because we had been raking leaves here in Orem all morning. We practically crawled into Salt Lake and just barely got there in time for Mary Ann's practice. The children were all frightened too!!!

Emily & Timothy - thank you SO much for your darling pictures and letters. I LOVE THEM!!! It is so wonderful that you can write to me - even Timothy is writing by himself. I am wondering if you saw the Halloween display at that home on Cantrell Road that also has the Christmas display - I heard on the radio that they were doing it.

Ron and his sister Sue drove to Boise, Idaho over the weekend to go to a wedding reception for Ron's nephew. I talked to Ann last night and she said they made a quick trip - Ron was home yesterday in time to do his calling at church. Ann didn't go with them because she wanted to stay home with the children - especially Susanna who was going to a Sadie Hawkins Dance.

John came in for a few minutes one day last week - they were expecting a package to be delivered here. I believe John & bob went fishing over the weekend. I saw Claire's parents at church yesterday and they said they thought they had come home on Saturday - I was worried about them because of the big snowstorm we had.

We just finished our Presidency Meeting!!! There are so many problems to iron out as we try to plan our homemaking Meetings. There are three wards that now meet in our building - a BYU ward has just started meeting there. We went to have our meetings on Thursday night and so do the other wards and it is really hard to plan things. I can tell there is going to be a lot of stress in the next month as we start the holidays - I hope you will all try to avoid it in your homes.

We will probably get a new Bishop next Sunday. It is our Ward Conference and our Bishop has been in almost 6 years and they only keep them in 5. My counselors think they may reorganize the Relief Society too - I WOULD NOT be unhappy to be released but I don't think it will happen. The man that everyone thinks will be the new Bishop is also a neonatoligist (sp.?) and is VERY busy - we'll have to wait to see what happens.

I am going to have our Family Home Evening Group here tonight. I will make "Susanna's" cake and I told everyone to be prepared to give a thought about the depression days and how we should be VERY thankful for the difference in those days and how it is now.

I am going to have to SERIOUSLY clean my house this week. All my chandeliers have cobwebs in them and EVERYTHING is dusty - I haven't really cleaned for months!!!
