HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JESSE ON WEDNESDAY - ONE YEAR OLD!!! What a beautiful little boy and he is ALL boy - l LOVED being able to hold him at Sun Valley - the next time I see him he will be running all over the place!!! I'm sure you will have a family birthday party for him with cupcakes.

Today is Halloween and I hope you all have a happy one. I remember all the Halloweens in Little Rock but I especially remember one when my folks and Aunt Marvel were with us - they had been there for Roy's birthday and stayed through Halloween and we had a lot of fun. I'll bet the trees around Roy & Patrices' home are beautiful - there is one about a block away from their home that Marc Jordin always goes to see in the Fall. It is beautiful here in Utah too - I could just sit and look out my windows all day - the sunsets are just gorgeous and the trees are bright yellow. I have 100 tootsie roll pops and then I bought a package of 250 cheap suckers to give out to the carloads of "big kids" who come around 8 or 9 o'clock. I have always bought the kind of candy I like so if there is some left over I am happy but I haven't had any left over for a long time so I bought other kinds this year.

It was fun to have the Woolleys come over last night - they were all in such a happy mood!!! We watched a video about Moses and then we each had a question to ask about it - the children really do watch and listen to it. Ann & I each subscribed to have the videos come each month and then we compare to see what each receives. I subscribed to all of the sets they produce but Ann just subscribed to the religious ones - this month she got Moses and I got one on Abraham Lincoln. I started this when I had my cable disconnected - I decided to put the cable money into these videos because I felt my grandchildren would enjoy them. So far I don't believe the grandchildren have even watched them - Ha!!!

Grandma and Grandpa Woolley and Mimi have been with the Woolleys this weekend - they came down for BYU Homecoming and the game. The game was pitiful - Arizona State walked all over BYU and it wasn't even a good game. The weather was just gorgeous though and I know they had a good time - Ron took them to the spectacular and the parade and other events.

I keep forgetting to thank you Patrice for your sweet letter I received shortly after returning from Sun Valley. I am SO glad that Claire picked you up at the airport and took you to their home so the children could play together - it sounded like they had a wonderful time and it was much better than spending five hours in the Salt Lake airport.

Bob and John went on a fishing trip over the weekend. They went to a place by Vernal where they could fly fish and John said they had a wonderful time. The weather was pretty but mighty cold - John said Bob took his tent and they were plenty warm. John said they caught some nice fish.

John came over yesterday and drained my sprinkling system. I have been worrying about it and appreciate SO much having him come do that. Last year they couldn't get the pipe out of the ground once they turned it off so this year John took special pains to not have that happen again. He figured out a way to not have the pipe cover more than the part that needs to be turned - anyway it worked out great!!!

I don't know if any of you remember your cousin, Jared Pinegar. He is the son of Shirley Pinegar who is Daddy's sister. Jared and his wife, Stephanie, had a little stillborn baby girl last week. They had a viewing for her at the same chapel where we used to attend and where Daddy's funeral was. I went to the viewing and she looked like a little doll - she was full term and had dark hair - they had put a ring on her finger and a corsage on her beautiful little white dress. It was a difficult thing to see. I didn't want to go to the graveside service by myself so I called to see if John could go with me. He took me and I am SO glad that we went. Daddy's sisters were all there except for Carol and I'm not sure she knew about it. Shirley and Glens' children were all there - some had come from California. Jared and Stephanie have two little boys.

Dianne Power came to Provo on Wednesday night to visit with her two sons and their wives and also to be with her little granddaughter who is seven months old. We had fun together. She went to my Relief Society book review with me on Thursday night - one of the ladies in our ward reviewed Erma Bombeck's latest book and it was just hilarious. Friday morning we met at the bagel place in Provo and had breakfast - Brick came too with his little baby daughter. After breakfast Dianne and little Anne and I went to the BYU Bookstore and shopped.

I also went to a book review last Tuesday. One of my neighbors reviewed the book "The Betrothed" by an Italian author, Alessandro Manzoni. This neighbor is Italian and teaches it at BYU. I have been trying to find it so I could read it before the review but I didn't find it until we went to the BYU Bookstore. She said it compared to "Gone With The Wind" and if it is good I will pass it around to you.

Our Relief Society is planning our next homemaking meeting and also our Christmas party. I feel like we should have some kind of favor for our party and none of us are "crafty"!!! I bought a Leisure Arts Craft book the other day and will try to come up with a party favor that isn't too difficult to make - anything like that is too difficult for me!!!
