HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BARJI ON THURSDAY!!! I hope you have a wonderful 14th birthday - I'll bet you have plans for a birthday party and I know it will be a SUPER one because you have SO many darling friends.

My "house guests" left this morning about 9 o'clock. I was so sure they would leave yesterday and when they didn't I thought they might be here all week - Ha!!! They had come down for a Regional Single Adult Conference being held at BYU and there were four women and two men. They were very impressed with the speakers they had at the different workshops but they were VERY disappointed in the dances. I feel SO bad for women in their situations who want to find husbands - they said most of the single men who came to the dances brought dates and only danced with them. Two of the women staying with me were in their late twenties but the other two were older. The two men who came with them were probably in their thirties and the woman said they acted like they didn't even know them when they got to the dances -it was kinda' funny.

I had a wonderful visit with Claire and her Mom and Dad this morning. They had brought Michael down for the tennis camp he is attending at BYU and stopped by afterwards. Claire broke her foot last week (I believe she was playing tennis) so it is in a cast but it is her left foot so she can still drive. She has a very different kind of cast on it and was so mobile this morning that I almost forgot she had a broken foot. They also brought Brett to stay with Ann so he could go to soccer camp with jimmy. I feel bad that Michael isn't staying with me but Claire said he chose to stay on campus so he could meet some new friends. I think he is might brave because he doesn't know anyone. I am hoping he will call me sometime this week so I can arrange to go get him and take him out to eat.

This next Saturday we are all getting together for our annual July 4th celebration that will be held on July 2nd. We will meet at Ann and Rons for diner and then go to the BYU Stadium for the program - it sounds really neat this year and I'll tell all about it in my letter next week.

I had a fun time yesterday - the Woolleys and John & Julianna came for dinner. The people staying with me occupied the downstairs and the upstairs so the children couldn't go any place to play but they were SO good. I had invited the people staying here to eat with us but they had a smorgasbord for them at the Y so they didn't. As usual I cooked way too much but I thought they would eat later but they didn't!!!

Ron took his children, with the exception of Jessie who had a violin music recital at BYU, up to the cabin on Friday night. They spent the night and then worked all day on Saturday painting the cabin and Ron put the boards up like he had planned. I'm anxious to see it. I hope to go up there probably on Wednesday. The children said they had a good time - they rode the four-wheelers and caught a fish and worked. I REALLY appreciate the things they did - I don't think it will take very long to finish the painting now. Ann stayed home with Jessie.

Julianna came by a few minutes ago to pick up the wedding pictures. I have had them for awhile and Rick came by one morning last week so I gave them to him to show Jean and their family and then take them to show Bob & Claire and their family. Julianna told me that the photographer was anxious to get them back to he could make their morning. They are beautiful pictures - I regret that I didn't have one taken of me with all my grandchildren - the one with the granddaughter is darling. I also wish we would have had the granddaughter all turn around and have him take a picture of their headphone because they were so special with the ribbons trailing down the back.

Speaking of pictures. I went to see Ramona to wish her a happy 80th birthday and she was shampooing her hair. She said her family was taking her to have her picture taken for her birthday present. I would like that for my 80th birthday too if I looked as good as she does. Her daughter, Margaret, is going to come spend a couple months with her - she lives in Virginia and she will bring her three children.

WE have had the HOTTEST weather I can ever remember here in Utah. When the people from Montana got here on Thursday they said they were ready to die - the air conditioner in their car had broken down. I don't normally run my evaporative cooler at night because it's cool enough without it but I have had it on constantly for the last five days. One day it was 103 - they said it would cool down to 95 today.

I compare the temperatures between Little Rock and Salt Lake and Salt Lake was hotter all last week. It makes a lot of difference to not have the humidity though. I hope you are surviving the hot weather, Roy & Patrice. I'm sure this Summer is a breeze for you Patrice after going through last Summer being pregnant.

Rick has been given more territory to cover in his work and this part of Utah will be part of it. I hope we will get to see more of him now. I was so happy to have him drop in one morning last week.

Viewpoint is moving their offices to a new building close by the Scera Theatre. The new building is very nice and will give them a lot more room. They will sell their old building. John is having final exams this week and then he has July off!!!
