HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EMILY THIS COMING SATURDAY. It's hard to believe you will be six years old Emily - this is an important birthday and I hope you have a wonderful day. I'm sure you will have a party and I hope I will get some pictures of it.
We just finished our presidency meeting and I'm going to get in my old clothes and go work out in the yard - it is a beautiful day and we are supposed to reach 66 today. We have had such a mild Winter that I keep waiting for it to get freezing cold again but I guess it's about time for Spring. My daffodils are blooming out on the hill and they are SO pretty!!!
I'm glad last week is over - our Relief Society birthday social was a HUGE success. Everything went just the way it was supposed to and I still can't believe all the compliments we had on it. The tables were decorated so beautifully, the food was excellent and the program was really special - we served 160 people and that is somewhat of a record. We don't have anything REALLY big now for several months so that is a relief - we were put in right at the beginning of a lot of big events that were scheduled so it has been kinda' hard.
I had a phone call from Joy Geisler one day last week telling me she had heard that Shauna Beyers Wheeler wasn't doing well - she had heard that her body was rejecting the kidney. I had told them I would try to come see them in Centerville either on Thursday or Friday and when I couldn't reach them by phone all day on Thursday I was really worried. I finally got them on Friday morning and Joy had misinformation - Shauna is doing really good. I wanted to go see the Weinerts while I was up that way (I knew that Bob & Claire were in California) so I planned to visit in Centerville from about 3:30 'til 4:30 and then go to Farmington. I got to the Weinerts about 5 o'clock but no one was home so I didn't stay.
I can tell that I am REALLY getting old. I had talked to Ellen Mae earlier in the week and I told her I would probably be to see Jeannie on Friday and would call her and try to stop by. I stayed at Jeannie's home for a little while to see if any of the children would come home and during that time I could have called Ellen Mae. I was almost to Salt Lake on my way home when I realized that I had forgotten to call Ellen Mae - I can only think of one thing at a time.
Jeannie - I love your beautiful pink poinsettia tree. Will that stay that way much longer? I am getting ready to throw my poinsettia from Christmas away.
The Woolleys were over last night and we had such a good time. They were so well prepared with a good Family Home Evening lesson as always - it was on the Articles of Faith and it's amazing to me that I have forgotten them and I used to know them from memory and not too long ago. Susanna and Jessie are getting excited about their trip to Europe - they will leave a couple days after they get out of school - I believe it's May 28th.
John and Julianna came over on Saturday for a little while. They are doing good. They brought one of the dresses that the little girls will be wearing for the reception so I could match the periwinkle color to the one I will be wearing. I have found one but I have to order it and I want to be sure it's the right color. I'm getting SO excited for the wedding!!!
My yard is quite pretty now - I was thinking this morning that this is a rare time for the yard - NO BUGS, NO COTTON AND NO LEAVES!!! It won't stay that way for long though. I'm going to dig up all the iris from the hill after they bloom this year I think - it is so hard to control the grass that grows around them and I believe I will be able to find something that looks good and doesn't require a lot of weeding. I'm getting lazy - I'm not going to plant a vegetable garden this year either - I'll just put that black plastic down to keep the weeds from growing.
That's all the news. I surely hope you are all doing good. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO and let me know how I can help you.
