I must tell you what just happened. I had my presidency meeting here this morning and I said I would make some "flyers" to pass around the neighborhood reminding everyone about the Relief Society Birthday Social tomorrow night. They left and I started to design the flyers - our R. S. symbol is a round circle with the words "Charity Never Faileth" written around it. I got out all my glasses to find the right size circles and you know how shaky I am so I finally tried to cut one out. Anyway, I was so frustrated and the phone rang and it was one of my counselors telling me she had just found a flyer on her doorstep announcing the social. There is a lady in our ward who makes all our posters and I am assuming she took this on herself and just did it without being told - WHAT A THRILL!!! It's really cute and must be something she has on her computer because it isn't hand done.

I will be SO happy when the social is over. I have had Dr. & Mrs. Thales Smith on the program for over two months to give a talk about their humanitarian mission to Albania. Last Monday Charone Smith called to tell me her husband had volunteered to work with the handicapped and they were sending him to Cedar City this week and he wouldn't be here. She could tell how disappointed I was so she called me back later that day to tell me he had arranged for a flight back that would get him here just barely in time for his talk. I was SO thrilled that he would make that effort and everyone was so excited about having him come - he has been a pediatrician here in Provo for 40 years. WELL - last Wednesday, Charone fell and broke her hip and she is in the hospital so she won't be here but Thales cancelled everything he had in Cedar City so he will be here for the whole thing. I REALLY feel bad for Charone - her cancer has recurred and somehow during the operation for the cancer her leg was broken and she had just recuperated from that and then she fell and broke her hip.

I have talked to everyone this week except for you Roy & Patrice. I have watched the weather and there have been some turbulent storms in your area - I hope you have escaped them because they can be scary!!!

The Woolleys came over for Family Home Evening last night and we had such a good time. Ann, Ron & Jimmy went to a baptism preparation meeting at 6 p.m. (I can't believe he is old enough to be baptized) so I went up to their home and picked up the older children. I asked if they would go to the cemetery and they were SO sweet and said they would like to so we drove over to Lehi. It was just about dark when we got there but I always feel better when we go as often as we can.  They had fixed a crossword puzzle about Heavenly Father's Plan that was really clever - they were all much faster than I was so I didn't do mine until this morning.

I have seen John during the week and he is doing good. It is SO funny - whenever he comes he always brings his cellular phone and he gets so many calls that I really don't get to visit with him. I believe he is getting "Spring Fever" - he came for his golf clubs - Ha!!! He & Julianna are working on their guest list for the different occasions and I told John that would be the hardest thing they did - that is truly a situation where you are "Damned if you do and Damned if you don't" as far as deciding who to invite and who not to.

Jeannie and Rick are doing good too. Jeannie is just about "out of breath" whenever I talk to her - I remember those days and it is REALLY hard to keep up with all the children's activities as well as your own. I believe Ricky will start playing baseball soon and that is always SO much fun for everyone - I will ALWAYS regret the pressure we put on John during that time in his life ªWE WERE SO DUMB!!!

Bob & Claire are doing good too. Bob said they were going to Los Angeles this weekend for a medical meeting of some kind and that will be fun. Bob said the mining company interested in the West Canyon property had written to him saying they couldn't get enough people willing to let them mine on their property so they were canceling their plans. I am glad - it would be SO nice if that area could be preserved for primitive private camping as well as cattle grazing. Bob is going to take his Boy Scout troop up there in a couple weeks - I hope they will do that often.

I SOLD THE TRUCK!!! I REALLY appreciate all the help Ron has given me on that project - he has allowed me to park it in his office space and he has given sales talks to many people interested in it. I have had a lot of phone calls about it but most of them wanted a different kind of truck and even though I only got $500 I felt good about it. The people who bought it wanted it for parts. That is one less thing I have to worry about - I was thinking of having someone come and take it to the dump.

ANN & JEAN - Claire and Julianna won't be able to go to the fashion show on the 26th. I have six tickets so I am going to let you decide what to do with the extra three. I could sell them but I can't buy anymore - they are sold out. I would love to have three of my granddaughters go but it will be up to you to decide which three. There are neighbors who have asked about them but I would prefer to have my own family use them. Please let me know how you feel about it. This is probably a burden to you!!!

I had my yard sprayed for bugs and they are all gone!!! HOORAY!
