CLAIRE -HAPPY BIRTHDAY on Wednesday. I talked to her last night and she said she would be 40 years old. A neighbor friend of mine turned 40 last week and her husband had a hearse parked in front of their home and grave stones all over in the yard - Claire said she was SO happy she wasn't married to a party animal and I don't blame her.
It is just like Summer outside - my daffodils are coming up and lots of the trees are budding out - we are going to get a freeze and ruin lots of pretty blossoms. We are supposed to get snow tonight or tomorrow but it surely doesn't look like it is going to happen.
I talked to each one of you last week so I know you are all doing good and that's such a good feeling for me.
Bob - thank you SO much for all your help with the West Canyon property. I really appreciate your taking some interest in it. I will NEVER sell it as long as I live so it is up to all of you as to what we do with it. I will also never go over there by myself but I would be happy if you can find some use for it. I am SO pleased that you actually found the property and hiked to it. I am very proud of you and Michael for spending the night over there - I got up several times during the night on Saturday and I was SO happy I could crawl back into bed with a hot pad and lots of covers.
Bob and Michael met John over in Lehi on Saturday morning and the three of them took the geological maps that Ron had marked on and they spent the day looking for the property. John called me that afternoon when he came home and said they had found it and he thought it was "beautiful". Bob called me on Sunday and said he was going to take the maps to Bob Ezell (Claire's father) who is a geologist and see if they had found the right piece. He called me later and said they thought that was right. I asked John if he got tired with all that hiking and he said he was "pooped" - when I called Bob late on Sunday afternoon he was taking a nap so I'm sure they really had a workout.
Bob doesn't think it would be a good idea to give that exploring company the right to go in and drill for valuable minerals and I don't either - we really don't have
a lot to gain from that and they could do a lot of damage to the property. I'm glad I can turn that over to you Bob.
Michael - I loved your little note you left for me. I was sorry I missed you - my church is from 11 'til 2 but I start with meetings at 8 o'clock in the morning and I'm never through until about 2:30 or 3:00. I left some bagels and jam and some cookies out in case you came by but you didn't eat one thing!!!
They are having some Prudential Meetings here on February 16th and I asked John if he would go with me - he said, "Mom, I'm sorry but I will be at a trade show in Monaco" - poor kid!!! He is doing good and is SO happy - I don't see much of them.
Ron was doing some investigating for an accident and he got into some poison oak. When they were over here a week ago he had a rash on his wrist and arms - since then, it has spread all over him and he is SO uncomfortable!!! I guess it itches like crazy and I remember how miserable the chigger bites were in Arkansas. He was supposed to go to San Francisco today but Ann said he wasn't feeling very good.
Russell - I am SO PROUD OF YOU!!! They had a church program that was televised world wide - it was "Behold the Little Ones". Russell was asked to be in the youth choir for it and he has practiced every Sunday for a long, long time. It was on television last night and I watched it and saw Russell when they focused on the choir members - I could even see his freckles!!! I thought the program was excellent but President Monson didn't look very well - I knew he had been ill - he looked really thin.
Patrice - thank you for your phone call. I had wanted to call you and even wrote myself a note to remind me but then I decided you would think I was paranoid about Timothy so I didn't. Joy called me earlier in the week and she said she had called you because I had told her I was worried about Timothy. I am SO happy that he is doing so well. I talked to him for a long time last night and he told me they had a new dog and it was white and it had a dog house up in their attic. THEN Emily got on the phone and said he had just made all that up - I couldn't believe it because he was so serious and so grown up. I love talking to them especially because I know their friends and their school activities - Emily's little neighbor friend has a friend who brought a truck load of snow to them from Mountain Home and they had built a snowman - isn't that cute??? I hope your weather gets warmer - you have had REALLY cold weather.
Jeannie - it was good to talk to you too. Ricky - I was so happy when you told me you were studying the scriptures - what a good thing to do on a Sunday afternoon!!! Jean, I wish you would come and give me some advice about window treatment for my living room. I got all excited about making some "puffy valances" for in there to brighten it up but the material will make or break it and I can't find exactly the right thing. I don't want to get all new draperies.
Annie gave me a permanent last Thursday and as usual, I was home bound for several days. I hope this one stays in for longer than a couple weeks - she did such a good job and it is curly!!! I have had three professional ones in four months.
