Dearest John; Roy, Patrice, Emily, Timothy & Jesse; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

This has been a busy morning!!! I got up early and went out to rake more leaves before the garbage man mace and then I got dressed up to go over to Springville by 10 o'clock. Cissy Beyers' brother passed away and the viewing was from 10 until 11. I thought Cissy and Charles and probably Shawna and Rex would be there but they weren't and I didn't know one person. They told me the Beyers were coming out next week for Thanksgiving and couldn't come out for the funeral - I was REALLY surprised that Shawna wasn't there!!! He was 85 years old so it wasn't sad and it was fund to meet Cissy's nieces and nephews and cousins and they were very nice to me - I'm glad I went. It's a beautiful day here today but it's REALLY cold - I'm always glad when it doesn't storm for funerals.

I hope the mailman brings me some pictures of little Jesse today. I appreciated your sweet phone message Patrice - in fact, I left it on for several days so I could replay it. I know how busy you are and will certainly understand if you don't get pictures out soon - that's probably down low on the priority list. I keep wanting to call but it's hard to know when a good time is and it scares me to think you would leave the baby just to answer the phone - especially when I don't have any news!!! It was SO sun to have Timothy tell me what you were going to name the baby - he could say Jesse so plain. I hope everything continues to go good and I know it will. I also heard about some tornadoes in Arkansas yesterday - I never did near where they touched down!!!

It was fun to talk to you on Saturday Bob and even more fun to talk to Michael - he is always so enthusiastic about everything. I miss seeing the children - maybe they'll come over to see me while I'm at the Weinerts this week. Jeannie told me that you aren't going to Mexico until the second week in December - she said they are SO happy that you have helped Ricky earn some of his requirements for his Eagle Scout Award by lining up the medicine you will take with you.

Rick will be attending a cardiology convention in the St. Thomas Islands - I didn't know that. I thought they were just gong for a little vacation. Jeannie was invited to go with him - I think that's SO neat!!! It will be fun to be with the children but I don't know what I will do all day - I may decide to come home during the day sometimes. Jae Theobald is going to take care of my dogs and bring the mail and papers in.

I haven't seen John this week. He drops in often and leaves me little notes but I always seem to miss him - he told the girl who cuts our hair that I have more of a social life than he does.

The Woolleys came over last night and that is always fun. Susanna gave the Family Home Evening lesson and she did such a good job. They brought caramel popcorn and I LOVE it - I will eat on it all day today. Ann & Ron had a great time in San Antonio. The children have big ideas for a Spring Holiday vacation - they always conduct their business during the Family Home Evening and it's fun to hear their plans - Hawaii, Florida, fix their basement, etc. etc.!!!

They had a "Women's Literacy conference" for our stake here on Saturday morning. They served a breakfast first and then we went to different classes and they were all excellent. One of the ladies in our ward gave a presentation about reading "Good Literature" and I enjoyed that. Reading has been a lifesaver for me since Daddy passed away - I can honestly say that I have done very little reading in my life up until now. I look at the television sets in my rooms and am amazed that that was so important to me during Daddy's illness - I seldom turn them on now except to hear the news.

Roy sent a book home with me to share with all of you. It is called "the Widow's Web" and it is a sequel to "Murder in Little Rock". I mostly read at night and I have been worried that it would scare me so I haven't dared read it but maybe this week while I'm at Jeannies I'll get it read and then I'll leave it for her to read and to pass on to Claire. Ann was in the middle of another book she wanted to finish before she started to read it. I can read "far fetched" mysteries and they don't bother me but this is a true story and I knew of a lot of the participants.

I'm trying to get up the courage to move the computer into my bedroom. I REALLY want to do some genealogy and book writing this Winter and my bedroom is my favorite room in the house. The room it's in now is so dark and I don't like to be in here at night. I was surprised to learn in the Family History Class I'm taking that it is quite risky to use the vacuum near the computer - something about the magnetic force ruining the discs.

I was thrilled to read in the paper that Viewpoint Data Base was honored as the Business of the Year in Utah County - congratulations to all those involved!!!

As you can tell - I don't have any more news. I love each one of you so very much - PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - Let me know how I can help you.
