Dearest John; Roy, Patrice, Emily & Timothy; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

I don't have much news and I'm sure you will be happy to not have to read an epistle!!!

I have talked to each one of you this week and have seen you all except for Roy, Patrice and their family and I know you're all doing good and that's great!!!

Bob & Claire and their children stopped by to see me yesterday - they had spent the weekend at Bryce Canyon. They had had a wonderful time and it was SO good to see them but just as we sat down to visit I had company come in so they left. I know they were anxious to get home but I still felt bad that they didn't stay longer. I REALLY do have a lot of company - I enjoy them but not when it takes time away from my family. I love to know that all of you take time to be with your children on special outings like going to Bryce Canyon - I know it's sometimes hard but that is what they will remember and Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie were all so excited as they told me about their trip. I keep wondering how long their van is going to last - they have taken lots of trips in it.

I called Roy & Patrice the other night - I had missed their call earlier. I was surprised to hear Robert answer the phone - he was visiting Arkansas and had had dinner with them. It was really good to talk to him a little - I worried that they were in the middle of dinner so I didn't talk very long. I really called to tell them about the resemblance between little Timothy and my brother Bob in a picture I had just received. I was surprised when I realized the resemblance and when Susanna noticed it too I really was surprised. When I asked Bob & Claire who looked like Bob they mentioned everyone but Timothy so maybe I'm imagining things and John's remark was, "Mother, Timothy doesn't look like anyone yet"!!!

John is busy moving with Viewpoint. They started the move over the weekend and John wasn't happy with the "decor" in the room assigned to him so he is putting in new carpet and wallpaper. I'm thrilled that he is interested in things like that and hope he learns how to do everything. He told me that the wife of one of his co-workers is wallpapering for him. They bought the lot next to the house and they're making it the driveway for the building - that will make coming and going much safer.

Ann & Jean had "exchanged" children for a couple days - Jessie went to Jean's home and Mary Ann came to Ann's. Ann called yesterday and wanted to know if I wanted to ride to Salt Lake last night to exchange them back. It was fun and Ann & Jean & I had a good visit while the children played on the parking lot of Burlingtons.  It was fun to watch them play - I was kinda' tired and each one of them had SO much energy and they danced all over the lot for at least an hour.  Jessie & LeeAnna slept all the way home though and I'll be Barji and Mary Ann did too.

I went to lunch with my luncheon club last week - we went to the Tiffin room at ZCMI in the mall. I don't know that the food was that spectacular but it was fun and afterwards we went to Helen McEuen's home to visit. That is a very sweet group of women. I am going to my Family Home Evening party tonight - it is going to be at Beth Tippet's home and she decided to have a potluck patio dinner - I am going to take a fruit platter. Daddy always used to cut up the melons and cantaloupe and I didn't realize how much time it took.

I have quite a cute vegetable garden. My home teacher, Steve Frisby, told me that if I put black plastic under the tomato plants it would stop the weeds from growing. I decided that if it would stop the weeds there it would stop it other places too so I have black plastic all over the garden - it looks kinda' funny but if it works it will be worth it. I planted six egg plant plants the other day - I have never grown egg plant before.

I loved having Susanna come over the other day to do a little sewing. She asked me to help her make one of those sarong skirts and she got some darling material. It didn't take very long and she did all the sewing - I am proud of her and hope she will do more of it during the Summer. I think it is really important for young girls to learn how to sew.

I believe that's all the news. I love each one of you very much - please let me know how I can help you!!! PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.
