Dearest John; Roy, Patrice, Emily & Timothy; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

Daddy & I have been out raking leaves so we could get them in the garbage can before the garbage man comes. It's a beautiful day and fun to be outside - our weather has warmed up and it feels good after that really cold spell. I believe we will drive up to the cabin as soon as I get my letter written - Daddy is anxious to see if he has caught any more skunks in his trap!!!

Roy & Patrice we have watched your weather quite closely and you have had a cold spell too - it's funny because your temperatures have been just about like ours. We are SO homesick for Emily and Timothy - Daddy said last night out of the clear blue sky, "Would you like to go see Roy & Patrice?" Of course, you know my answer. We have talked about Emily thinking Timothy should walk the very day he turned one year old - she will be SO excited when he takes his first step!!! We won't be able to plan any trip right soon because of doctor's appointments but don't be surprised if we call and say we're coming!!!

Bob - Happy Birthday this Wednesday!!! We hope you have a really happy day with a cake and all the trimmings - I'm SO glad we didn't stay in Laramie where you were born - they have already had a lot of snow and cold, cold windy weather. You surely turned out to be a handsome young man and when you were born you had red stripes through your eyes and I worried they would never go away. Claire - where are we going out to dinner next???

John is doing really good but we don't see much of him. I panicked one morning last week - when I woke up his car wasn't here and I hurried downstairs. He had left us a note saying he had gone out early to check on the ducks. He is such a thoughtful & considerate guy, I knew there was an explanation.

Jean & Rick had a wonderful time on their trip - they went to the Island of St. John. They wanted to attend church but it wasn't listed in the telephone directory. They went shopping on Saturday afternoon and just happened to talk to a young man who mentioned that he was planning to attend BYU when he finished school. As it happened he was one of the very few members who lived there are he picked them up for church the next morning. Jeannie said there were about 35 in attendance and they were all black and it was a wonderful experience.

Friday night was the night for our City Rep. Program in Salt Lake - it was Oscar Wilde's "The Canterville Ghost". Ann had a little problem - she had bought tickets in August for her and their girls to go see the New York presentation of "Cats" and it was a matinee performance at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake. Ron had
