Dearest John; Roy, Patrice, Emily & Timothy; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; & Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

Monday morning and I am kinda' on schedule. Daddy & I have been out in the backyard - I picked the vegetables and raspberries and Daddy has been digging out the place for the tier he wants to put on the hill. I have tried and tried to talk him out of it but he won't talk - it's something he has wanted to do all Summer!!! He says another tier will make it so much easier to take care of. I thinks he feels SO much better when he takes it easy and reads a lot but he just won't do it!!! His hair has started to come out - he hasn't lost any until this morning but now it has really started. He says his headaches are better and for the most part I think he is doing really good - I AM SO PROUD OF HIM!!!

We had a really fun day yesterday. This weekend was our church general conference and it was televised so the Weinerts came down and we all met at the Woolleys' home for waffles and all the trimmings. I never fix waffles because I don't like them for breakfast but I love them later in the day and everything tasted SO good - Daddy cooked some of the elk sausage too. We missed the Bob & Roy Mellors!!!

Bob & Claire are in Hawaii - they'll be home this Wednesday, the 9th. Bob called us last week and he said they were having a wonderful time - they had been on a helicopter ride over some of the volcanoes and they had done a lot of scuba diving - we're anxious to have a full report of their trip and we hope they are taking a lot of pictures. Bob said their children are doing fine.

Roy & Patrice - we hope you have had a fun time with Joan (Patrice's sister). Patrice said you were going to take her to the State Fair. We heard that you had had a rain storm and we hope it didn't last long. We really appreciated your letter Patrice telling us that little Timothy was much improved - I have wanted to call a million times. I really miss them - I'll be bet Emily has had fun with all her "pumpkin activities" - did her T-shirt turn out?

John is working hard at Viewpoint - he spends many evenings working and he just loves it. It's wonderful opportunity for him. He surely keeps our yard in good shape and we appreciate that SO much!!!

The Woolleys are going to Lake Powell this Wednesday. The Utah Education Association Meetings are held this Thursday & Friday so all the schools in Utah are out for vacation. They have rented a trailer down there and will spend their time with fun water toys and just relaxing - it will be SO good for them to do that. They gave us so WONDERFUL apples from their trees yesterday.

The Weinerts are doing good - Jean & Rick just came home from a little trip to Sun Valley - Rick had business there and Jean went with him. Jean had a shocker the other day - her doctor put her on some new medicine and when she went to pick it up it was $300. We thought Daddy's medicine bill was bad when it was $120. There is a lot of controversy over the price of prescription drugs and Marc Jordin is always saying the pharmaceutical companies don't make the profit. If it helps you though, the price is insignificant.

Daddy & I went with Ann & her girls to Salt Lake for the City Rep program on Friday night. It was a musical with all Irving Berlin's music - we just loved it!!! Jean & her girls had other plans so Rick & Ricky went to it and we think they enjoyed it too. Ricky was anxious to hurry home to see if the "Braves" had won their game - he is a real sports enthusiast!!!

I don't have any more news. Daddy & I are going to our Family Home Evening party tonight and that is always fun. I'm in the middle of planning the luncheon for our Relief Society meeting a week from Thursday - I'm going to serve bar-b-cue sandwiches made from brisket with the slaw on the top and then nachos - how's that for simple???

We love each one of you so very much and we're SO proud of you. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Let us know how we can help you.
