Dearest John; Roy, Patrice & Emily; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:
Monday morning, and Barji & Sarah are in the bathtub while I write my letter. I will hurry with it because we are going to Farmington in an hour or so. Sarah's kindergarten starts at noon and I want to have her home in time for that. Barji is "off track" for this month so she will be home and that will be a big help to Jeannie.
Jeannie went into the hospital last Wednesday and the surgery went wonderful and she felt really good until Friday night and then she had a "few little" complications. The doctors want to keep her in the hospital until they can get that all cleared up. Daddy & I were in Farmington until Friday night and then we brought the children down here. Rick came down on Saturday morning and he & Ron took all the older children to Snowbird skiing. It was just a gorgeous day and they had a great time. Susanna had been sick with the flu so she came with Jimmy to play with Sarah - we really had a happy day!!!
The Weinert children stayed with the Woolleys until last night (Sunday) and then Rick came to get Ricky & Mary Ann so they could go to school. Barji & Sarah stayed here and I will take them home today and stay as long as Jeannie needs me. Daddy & I went to the hospital to see her yesterday morning and she looks just wonderful and she said she was feeling pretty good - she had been on a clear liquid diet but they let her eat normally yesterday and Rick said he smuggled her in some fish & chips.
The children are just wonderful and very easy to care for - it's a real trick to get them to all their activities like ballet, piano, violin, etc., etc. - Ha!!! They are missing their Mom though and they will all be happy to have her home.
Bob & Claire left Friday morning on their cruise - we know they will have a wonderful time and we're all anxious to hear all about it. I'll call and check on their children while I'm in Farmington this week.
The Woolleys are doing fine - Ron is extremely busy and doesn't have time for the "anxiety
attack" he is supposed to be having. I haven't said anything in my letter about the change in his business (that's unusual for me, isn't it?) Ron has been in business with Chuck Warner in "Collision Safety Corporation" for about ten years - he decided this was the year for him to go on his own. It will be a change for them but in the long run he will be happier and that is SO important.
John had his BIG test on Saturday morning - he didn't come home before we went to bed and we joked that maybe he had committed "Harry Karry" - Ha!!! He said it wasn't too bad and he had gone to a hockey game in Salt Lake before coming home. He is doing just fine and has certainly kept his nose to the "grind stone rough" for a long, long time.
Sarah is a darling girl. Sarah wanted to help me with my letter).
We haven't heard from the Roy Mellors recently. We know they're doing fine and we can hardly wait for their visit. It will be so much fun for all of us to be together and we know Jeannie will be feeling good by then. Susanna said the other day she is anxious to see how much little Emily has changed - Emily will be surrounded by many cousins who REALLY love her.
Daddy is piping in the gas to our fireplace - we picked up some of the pipe on our way to Farmington the other day and had to drive with it sticking out the window so we couldn't close it - IT WAS COLD!!!! It will be wonderful to have gas logs in there because with our blower it will keep the den so much warmer. This has been such a cold Winter we have noticed how much we would love a fireplace that didn't have to be fed with wood!!!
I had better close and get on my way. We love each one of you so very much. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Let us know how we can help you.
REMINDER - PICTURE TIME - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24th AT 4 P.M. AND DINNER HERE FIRST ABOUT NOON!!!
