Dearest John; Roy, Patrice & Emily; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LITTLE KATIE!!! She was two years old on Saturday but Bob said they weren't going to celebrate until today. She is such a darling little girl but as Claire said yesterday, she is growing up too fast!!!

We are having an absolutely gorgeous Spring day here in Orem - our yard looks manicured and our house isn't "too dirty" so Daddy & I are going fishing as soon as I finish my letter!!! I am going to write it today but won't mail it until tomorrow - Daddy goes back to see Dr. Brown in the morning and he will have the results from the blood test so I will tell you about it in a postscript to this blood test so I will tell you about it in a postscript to this letter. Daddy feels just great and isn't having any more problems with his hand so I'm sure the blood test will be good!!!

We had such a wonderful day yesterday. The Bob Mellors, Woolleys and Daddy & I all met at the Weinerts for dinner and to watch our General Conference on television - we missed John and Roy, Patrice & Emily. The food was "out of this world" and there is absolutely nothing that Daddy & I enjoy more than to have our family get together - the little children just love each other SO much and so do the adult children and that makes us very happy!!!

Ann, Jean & I went to see Claires' parents' new home and what a treat that was - I have never seen a more beautiful home and so tastefully decorated. Daddy asked me if it made me envious and the only thing I envy is their talent - I just can't imagine being able to plan a home like that and decorate it that way. They could surely do that for a business if they were so inclined. Alice, (Claire's Mom), has made all the draperies and they are BEAUTIFUL. We are thrilled for them!!!

We had our missionary reunion on Friday night and it was so enjoyable. We had a very small crowd (only about ten) but I loved it because I could sit down with them and visit instead of rushing to answer the door and scurry around with refreshments. They just helped themselves and enjoyed being with Daddy reminiscing about our mission - what a great blessing that has been in our lives!!! One couple brought us the cutest Easter basket filled with little washcloth Easter bunnies - a very thoughtful sweet little couple - they are expecting their first baby and they are struggling to get an education. He was adopted when he was in High School and his adoptive parents sent him on his mission - he told us that he was never given any definite instructions on what to do with his life until he served his mission and he thanked Daddy for what he had done to help him many young men could say that about Daddy.

Daddy & John worked most of the day on Saturday hauling in that black "stuff" from Utah lake to put on our shrubs, lawns and in the flower beds. Daddy had done one load earlier and we needed this second load and John offered to help and we appreciated that SO much. I don't believe we will ever need any more. The landscaping that Daddy has done adds so much to the yard and really the yard pretty much will keep itself now - Ha!!! I say that quite often but Daddy works constantly on it.

Annie & I went to the Orem Women's Club luncheon and fashion show on Saturday morning. I always hesitate to ask Ann & Jean to do things like that with me because I know how busy they are but I love it when we are able to go together. I know this put an extra burden on Ron because all the children are home on Saturday morning but Ron - I appreciated it. They served chicken ala king on a puff pastry (fattening) and it was delicious. I'm not much into fashion but they had some pretty clothes. I wish I could wear a uniform all the time - clothes are hard for me!!!

April is going to be a full month!!! Daddy is going to make some "flyers" to pass around in our ward asking members to bring a "batch" of cookies for the Gold & Green Ball this Saturday and then he is ordering punch form BYU. Beth Tippets and I are planning our luncheon demonstration for the next week - then Daddy & I speak on Easter in our Ward and then the next week I give my Relief Society lesson. Sometime in between these times the "men & boys" are going to Lake Powell. Ann keeps reminding me how "good" it is to be busy.

Roy & Patrice - did you go to Little Rock??? We're SO anxious to hear about your trip and what you found in the way of a home. Patrice - are you still feeling good? We hope so. We talked about you yesterday when we were all together and WE'RE ALL SO THRILLED THAT YOU WILL GIVE US A VERY DEFINITE REASON FOR HAVING ANOTHER FAMILY PICTURE MADE THIS YEAR!!! We loved your card Patrice - thanks so much!!!

Daddy & I drove up to Scofield last Thursday planning to go to the cabin but were we even surprised!!! They still have a lot of snow and we couldn't get beyond that one point where the other cabins are built up on the mountain. It is really a wonderful thing they have that much snow because they need it so badly - this last storm dumped about six inches up there. I'll bet it will be May before we can get there - we had wanted our family to go there for Easter Saturday but unless it thaws a lot we won't be able to. I believe Daddy wants to spend the entire Summer there and I don't blame him.

We have our Family Home Evening card party tonight - it will be fun to be together with friends.

We love each one of you so very much and we're so proud of all of you. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Let us know how we can help you.
