Dearest Johnny; Roy, Patrice & Emily; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

This REALLY will be a short letter - besides not having any news, I have a lot to accomplish today!!!!

Daddy left this morning about 4 o'clock to go to Piute Reservoir with Ray to fish for a couple days - he was so excited I don't believe he slept all night - Ha!!! It's wonderful that he enjoys the outdoors so much and he and Ray are "two peas in a pod" - they enjoy the same things and even think alike!!!!

I am going to have a luncheon tomorrow for "the ladies" and plan to clean house and get things ready today - there will be ten of us and it will be fun. I'm going to make Francis James' chicken salad and also her creamy cranberry salad and a blueberry cheesecake for dessert. Ann told me they love Rhodes Croissants so I am going to try those too. When this luncheon group was started we all promised to not try to "outdo each other" and make it competitive so I want to keep it simple. I have asked each of the ladies to bring a family picture so we can all tell about our families - we might be here all day - Ha!!!!

Daddy & I had a very productive week last week - the weather was beautiful so we worked out in the backyard every day. Daddy has wanted to "terrace" the hill for a long time so he bought some of those treated logs and made five tiers - two on the one side and three on the side next to our trees. It will be so much easier to plant flowers now than it has been in the past. We took two huge truckloads of leaves, etc. over to Lehi and dumped them in our pasture - it's really nice to have someplace to take them. Johnny came by one afternoon "just in time" and loaded them in the truck for us.

Patrice - thank you SO much for those darling pictures - you are a very good photographer!!!! My favorites are the ones of little Emily with Roy on the trampoline and of her and John - the expressions on her face are so sweet. It looks like she has fallen and scratched her nose - Daddy and I are both happy she has had a few little bumps. We laughed at the one of her feeding herself - that is a hard time to go through, isn't it???? We loved the backyard playhouse for her - I'll bet she loves that. We continue to receive lots of compliments on our front door wreath and we just love it (Patrice made it for us while she was here).

We haven't heard from any of the rest of you this week but we know you are doing fine - I'll bet you have all been doing the same things we have been doing - WORKING IN THE YARD!!!! John is doing good - he went to Moab this past weekend and went bike riding - he said it was just beautiful. His business group is advertising in their school paper again this week so I am staying close to the phone to take the calls - they really went all out this time with a huge picture of some of the places that are patronized with the "Cougar Card" (241 Card).  I'll have a copy made for you and send it to you next week.  They have lowered the price to $5 per card so they should sell a lot of them.  I hope to be busy answering the phone all week!!!

Daddy went to see Dr. Middleton last week and they took another blood test - I'll let you know the results when we get them. He has been experiencing some more stiffness and a little pain in his neck so they have ordered a bone scan for Wednesday morning. This is an ongoing problem that we all understand - please try to not let it affect your personal lives - we are coping just fine and we want you to also.

We are supposed to have more rain and snow this week - right now it is just beautiful!!!! I believe Charlie Gibson from the Good Morning America show is in Utah for skiing and so much of the snow melted last week that he might have problems.

We love each one of you so very much. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Let us know how we can help you.
