Dearest Johnny; Roy, Patrice & Emily; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:
It's Monday morning and we are having a beautiful cool morning for a change and it feels SO good!!!! We have had some of the hottest weather we have ever had in Utah for the past couple weeks and it has also been quite humid. Johnny doesn't spend much time at home because we haven't turned on our air conditioner - he and Ann are conspiring against us to turn it on - Ha!!! I know we are old fashioned but when we can come downstairs where it is so nice and cool during the hot part of the day it just seems foolish to cool the entire house with just the two of us here. We sleep with a blanket at night and Johnny has to have his Chilean wool cover most of the time.
We are SO excited for tomorrow when Bob, Claire & their family will come. Yesterday was Michael's seventh birthday and we are wondering if maybe they either celebrated it last week or haven't made a big deal of it!!!! The move will probably be a little hard on him for a day or so - he has friends, old & young alike, all over their street in Tennessee and they will miss him. We are going to have a little family get together tomorrow evening so Laura & Michael will know how special we feel about them moving here - the Woolleys are coming and we hope the Weinerts will be able to come too. We just wish Roy, Patrice & Emily could be here too.
It was good to talk to you yesterday, Roy & Patrice and to hear little Emily fussing in the background. I'll bet it is too hot to go very many places where there are crowds, like Sea World. One of my High School friends from Brigham City called me last week to tell me she was sorry she couldn't come to my Father's funeral - they were in San Antonio where her son lives and they had to gone to Sea World and said it was really great. It sounds like you are having a fun Summer and we are really happy you are able to travel a little to be with your friends for their special times (they are going to New Hampshire for a friend's wedding the last of July). I can't believe Emily is going to have blue eyes - we're anxious to receive the picture that you said is on its way. I can believe it when you say your sisters "ate her up" while you were home - you didn't mention the Thomases.
The Woolleys and Weinerts are fine. We have talked to Jeannie several times - they went to Twin Falls, Idaho for a little family outing with Rick on a business trip last week and had fun. Barji will be baptized next Saturday so we are all planning to be with them and that will be fun. The Woolleys went on a church camp out last Friday night and Ann & Ron were in separate cars - I will make a LONG, LONG, story short - Ann had car trouble and she & LeeAnna ended up walking for two hours until finally a girl that Ann knew passed and recognized them - she stopped and took them to the camp out which was about thirty minutes away - Ann wasn't sure where the place was and ended up close to Sundance and their camp was out in American Fork canyon. We laughed as she told us about it but to her it was not one bit funny - she had turned her car flashers on and Ron say them but he thought it was her way of telling him she was going to go "over the loop" which is through Provo canyon. When she and LeeAnna finally got to the camp out about two hours late Ron wasn't concerned because he just though they had gone on a sight seeing tour - Ha!!! Ann couldn't stay all night because Jessie had a gymnastics meet the next morning so she & Jessie & Jimmy came home Friday night and they had the van - we still haven't heard how Ron and the rest of the Family got home. Ron was in charge of part of the camp our so he had a lot of things on his mind.
Johnny is doing good in his work and he has gone skiing on Utah Lake several times this week. They were on the lake Saturday afternoon and a wind storm came up so they hurried to get off it - there were two people drowned later in the day. That is really a treacherous lake if you don't watch it!!!!
Daddy & I went fishing last Thursday - we went to Scofield Lake and it was REALLY hot but fun. We didn't go until mid-morning so the fish weren't biting - we only caught one fish. Daddy had more fun catching crawdads - they were almost as big as crabs!!!
I can't think of any more news. We love each one of you so very much - PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - let us know how we can help you!!!!
