Dearest Johnny; Roy, Patrice & Emily Anne; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura, Brett & Katherine Marie; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

Wow!!!!! Zion is growing - and WE LOVE IT!!!! We think about the little babies all the time and I find myself looking twice at the babies I see at the mall or at church and trying to envision what ours look like. Patrice - we loved your letter and you sound busy and happy. We know it must have been a "let down" for you when your Mother left - I remember those days and I wasn't quite sure I would be able to do it but somehow we made it and you will too. We know it has been fun for you to have Keith and Debbie there for a little visit - thy will always be special friends. We hope Emily has developed a schedule that is easy for you all to live with - we have shown her pictures to EVERYONE!!!! Bob says that everything is going fine with them too - Claire's legs are improving everyday and little Katherine is doing fine. We hope Bob & Alice will be able to stay until Claire really gets stronger. We're anxious to hear more about who Katherine looks like - does she look like her brothers or Laura????

This has been a funny day do far!!!! My visiting teachers came this morning about 10:30 so I hurried and cleaned up the house - I hadn't vacuumed for several days and with Hans around I need to do it everyday. Then, Daddy and I went to the store to get dome more varnish for him to use - he is refinishing the railing on our porch. Just as we were driving in, two of our former missionaries followed us in the driveway - SO I fixed lunch for them and while we were eating Johnny came home and we all visited until now and it is almost 3 o'clock. I usually write my letter before now and get it in our mailbox bit now I will have to take it to the post office or wait until tomorrow!!!!

The big news for this week was "going to be" that Johnny has the chicken pox but he went to the doctor again this morning and they don't believe he has them. He is broken out all over the sides of his arms, legs and thighs and under his arms and some on his stomach - they look just like chicken pox to us and when we went to the campus doctor on Saturday she said she thought they were too and she had another doctor come look at them and he said they were but to wait 48 hours and come back to make sure. He hasn't broken out anymore so when he went back this morning they said they THINK it is an allergy reaction to something - a skin specialist is going to look at him on Wednesday. This has been a funny time for Johnny - he hasn't really felt well for over a month and is now finished with his second prescription of penicillin and on Friday he broke out with all three sores. We'll have him have some blood tests taken to see if they can find out what his problem is - the campus doctor says he still has puss on his tonsils. He has his last class tomorrow and then tests next week so for the most part he is finished with school.

Daddy is REALLY feeling good - I can't keep up with him. Our yard is simple beautiful - it looks manicured and we went out this morning and bought some petunias to plant in the front. He wants Johnny to help him bring in some top soil to put on the hill before he plants anything else out there. Our weather is so pretty - not too hot but comfortable with a light sweater - we had frost two or three mornings last week - Daddy fixed the sprinklers and they go on about 4 o'clock in the morning and one morning we had icicles all over. He and Ray went fishing last Wednesday and they had a wonderful time but didn't even get a bite - they blamed it on the full moon that helps the fish to see so they can eat all night (is that right?). Daddy loves his little fishing boat and they bought a fish finder together so they will have fun all Summer.

Jeannie & Rick will go to Mexico this weekend - we hope you have a fabulous time!!!! We wanted to care for the children but they have their usual babysitter and she's hard to compete with - they really love her and she is so good with them - a young girl with lots of energy!!!! Jeannie - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - on Saturday.

Today is Jessie's eighth birthday!!!! She is going to be baptized the last of the month and will have her party this weekend - she's going to have a "sleep over". The Woolleys came over for a little while last night and we LOVED IT. Ann 7 I went to a Medical Auxiliary Luncheon that was held on the campus of UVCC (in our backyard) on Saturday. The food wasn't all that good but it was fun anyway. Little Jimmy & LeeAnna came over here to tend PaPa while we were gone and Jimmy was asleep when Ann came to take them home so we insisted that he stay here until he awakened. When we took him home later that day Ann & Ron had just come home from grocery shopping at Price Savers - you wouldn't believe their kitchen - it looked like a 7 to 11 store. They laughed as they told us they had spent $600 for food. (We told our missionaries that today and they said they didn't spend that much a year - Ha!)

I'm using Ron's computer today because Johnny came home before I got my letter written and he had things to do on his. I really like the printer for this one better anyway!!!!

Daddy & I went to a party in the neighborhood last Monday night- we played Yahtzee and Scrabble - we have had those games for a hundred years but have never really known how to play them. The people we played with are very serious game players - you know us - we can't get very serious over things like that. We did win the prize though! They want us to join their little group and I/m not sure what we'll do - they all seem SO old - Ha!!!!

That's all the news. We love each one of you so very much. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Let us know how we can help you.
