Dearest Johnny; Roy, Patrice & Emily Anne; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura & Brett; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:
It's a beautiful SNOWY morning here in Orem!!!! They predicted snow for yesterday and when it didn't come we thought maybe the store had gone around us but we have it this morning!!!!!
We have loved talking to Roy & Patrice this past week and hearing a little about Emily Anne (they spell Anne with an E at the end). We laughed at Roy when he told us that she was a little mixed up in her schedule - she was sleeping four hours at a time during the day and only two at night- does that sound familiar???? He also said they had gone through some of Patrice's baby pictures and "found Emily Anne" - he said she really looks like her and that's WONDERFUL!!!!! Suzie is with them helping out and we know they really appreciate that and we know she is having lots of fun too. WE WANT SOME PICTURES!!!!!!
We have loved talking to Bob too - the prescription he called in for Daddy has really done the trick. Daddy is much better and doesn't cough at all!!!! Bob said that Claire is still having a lot of problems wit her varicose veins and the doctor doesn't want it to go on much longer and may even induce labor soon. We just know that everything will be okay and we know you will all be happy to have that little baby here - we wish we could help!!!
The really big news for this letter is that the Weinerts have sold their home!!!!! Jeannie called yesterday to tell us and they are so thrilled that we are too. They plan to move sometime in April (I think!). They will have a fun, fun summer working on their new yard and putting their own touches on their home - they have such a good taste it will be a show place in no time and we are excited for them. There are plans in their new neighborhood to build a community swimming pool and tennis courts, etc. - similar to the one in your community Roy & Patrice.
The Woolleys spent this past weekend in Jerome visiting with Rons' parents. It was a quick trip for them - they left early, early Saturday morning and came home last night (Sunday). Rons' parents work in the Idaho Falls Temple every weekend and they travel from Jerome to Idaho Falls and spend Friday nights there so it is difficult to find time for their visits - -e admire Ron &
Ann for driving there for such a short visit but IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT and Rons' parents do the same thing - they drive to Utah for every grandchild's baptism, etc. etc.!!!!
Johnny is feeling a little better but he is still not quite "up to par" - he says his earls being plugged up now is hear. We doesn't seem to have much congestion in his head so I don't know what would cause that. His penicillin in runs out today so he will go back to the doctor for a check up and get his advice. He doesn't have much confidence in the BYU Health Center but we believe it's because he has two brothers to get advice from. We're really not too worried because it hasn't slowed down his social life very much - Ha!!!!!! He worked out in the yard with Daddy Saturday morning - he drilled some "weep holes" in the concrete wall - Daddy has been so worried the wall would fall down because of the wet soil in back of it.
We had our driveway replaced last week and it looks so much better. I didn't realize what a BIG JOB that would be. There was quite a bit of flaking and I envisioned the cement to be about an inch thick in places but I soon found out how thick it really was when they started taking it out. They also replaced two sections of the walkway leading to the house and also a small section in the garage - they had to saw that out and it took them forever. They worked until midnight and then left a barricade and big lights out in front to keep anyone from driving on it - Johnny said, "Boy, they must think we have dumb friends" - Ha!! They put a sealer on it (we have never had that done before) and it still smells like a garage - Ron brought over some "stuff" to put in the cement to keep it from cracking and we appreciated that!!! A lot of the homes on our street have had their driveways crumble and people tell us they used an inferior cement. We're not going to drive our cars on it for it for at least a week.
Dianne Power just called me - she is staying in their condo here in Provo. She and Trace came to visit with Brick & Garic and they are thrilled that it is snowing because the boys want to ski. She was SO thrilled to hear about your baby, Roy & Patrice and said to say Hi. We are going to go to lunch tomorrow and it will be fun to catch up on their family news and talk about our Little Rock friends.
We will have our missionary Reunion here on Friday night. Susanna, Jessie, Barji & Mary Ann are coming to help as Daddy says - we may just have a grand daughter reunion because most of our missionaries have left school and live outside Utah. It will be fun though if we just have a few come - our missionaries have all been so thoughtful to us. We're just going to serve a special ice cream dish and chips & dip and maybe a few cookies- they really don't come to eat - we have found that out!!!!! Johnny is going to Salt Lake to attend his missionary reunion. Unless I can talk him into staying and helping us - our missionaries come to see him almost as much as they do Daddy.
We're going to get together wit the Woolleys and Weinerts for Easter Sunday. I told Ann I was going to take a picnic lunch and go to West Canyon and roll Easter eggs if I had to go alone and she said, - "Okay"!!!! If the weather is good I would like to do that but if it snows all week the roads will be too wet over there - maybe we'll do that later in the Summer. I'm about out of space so I'll condense the rest of the news - Uncle Elly had open hear surgery and is going fine (in California) - Elaine came over with a case of "health pop" for Daddy - she's so cute!
