Dearest Johnny; Roy & Patrice; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura & Brett; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:
It's Monday morning - Johnny has a holiday form school today and he is still asleep so I will use Ron's computer!!!!! Speaking of computers - Bob, you can't imagine how much fun Johnny has had with all that software you loaned him - that is just fabulous. He is wondering if you want him to send it back to you or keep it here for you when you come - it's really valuable but we could insure it if you want it back there. Daddy and I don't understand computers all that well but he has been SO excited about the things he could do with everything you sent him and has shown us all of it. He has copied it up at the Y so it would fit our computer - Johnny bought a "mouse" too!!!! Computers are surely the way of the future and that's the only way Daddy and I can agree to all the time he spends with it.
Roy - Daddy and I watched the ski reports last night and they have 65" of snow at Snowbird and we are supposed to get more snow this week. We have really had some beautiful weather the past week and we have worried that the snow would be all gone but it isn't. Johnny and his friend went skiing on Saturday - they went to Sundance - and they said it was great!!!! We are SO excited about having you here with us even though we probably won't see much of you - we'll plan to pick you up on that 1 o'clock flight Friday unless we hear differently. We wish SO much you could come too Patrice!!!!
We got our pictures back from our trip and they are really good - even the ones we took in the dark like in Bob's garage and in the bedroom we slept in at Roys. We'll send you some. I take our trips all over again when I look at our pictures and it's so much fun. Daddy is feeling so much better than he did at the end of our trip - the medicine you have prescribed for him Bob has really helped. We go to see Dr. Brown (the cancer specialist) tomorrow and then next week we go to see Dr. Middleton (the urologist). We couldn't see Dr. Brown this week as we had planned because he had to go to St. George - I believe he goes there once a month to do radiation treatments.
The Woolleys are doing fine - they drop in quite often and it's always fun to have them come. We had a fun experience with the children on Saturday night. Ann & Ron went to dinner and left Susanna & Jessie in charge - I knew this so I called about 9 o'clock to see if everything was okay. They were so cute - they said Jimmy wouldn't go to sleep because they couldn't find his blanket. Daddy & I drove up there to help them find it and when we walked in little Jimmy came running to us and he was not one bit tired or ready to go to sleep and Susanna & Jessie were so exasperated!!!! We found his blanket and Susanna put him in his bed and within one minute he was sound asleep. They all love their home and are not frightened in it.
The Weinerts are doing fine too. Johnny went up last Wednesday and took Ricky to the Jazz said Ricky did too!!!! They have put their home up for sale - they really need more room and it is either buy a larger one or fix up their basement so they can have bedrooms. They have found one they like so they are trying to sell theirs - we think their home is one of the most beautiful ones we have ever seen but we agree that they need more room.
Daddy & I drove to Manti yesterday morning to attend the homecoming for Carol & Elly from their Hawaii Mission. They have been gone for 21 months and are SO happy to be home but they have had some choice experiences. They served a buffet dinner at their home after church and it was delicious and it was fun to visit with everyone - all Daddy's sisters and their husbands were there except for Elaine who was in an accident last week and is really bruised up - she totaled their car when she went through a red light and was hit by a BYU student. All the relatives always ask about our family and we can't tell you how proud we are to tell all about you!!!!
Two of our former missionaries, Elders Madsen and Klem, came to visit with us last night. Elder Klem is married to be brought is wife to meet us and she is really a nice young woman. Elder Madsen is just about to get engaged to a girl from California his hair is quite long and he looks so different. We really had fun talking about our mission experiences and we laughed and laughed - good tonic for Daddy. They remember Johnny as he was as a high school student and it was fun for them to visit with him now and see his maturity.
Daddy & I are going to see some schnauzer puppies in Salt Lake this afternoon - they are advertised in the newspaper. They're about 7 weeks old - some female and some make and some black and some salt & pepper. We think we need a dog but it will have to be a house dog because we don't have a fence and we have never had good luck in training one SO we will see!!!!!
Carol Ann & her daughter Rosie came by to see us one afternoon last week - Carol Ann was here to help her mother get ready for the dinner yesterday and Rosie is in school at the Y. They are special people and are always doing things for others. Art (Carol Ann's husband) has just opened another dental practice in Palm Springs - this makes three.
We had a real surprise on Friday afternoon. We had a call from Paul & Elizabeth Walters (the Hutterites from Montana) and they were in Orem along with four of their relatives. Daddy went to get them and lead them to our home. They were on their way to Phoenix to pick up oranges to take back to Montana and juice for the rest of the clan - they had a big semi-trailer. It was so much fun to visit with them. We love each one of you so much!!!
