Dearest Johnny; Roy & Patrice; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura & Brett: Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron An, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:
We are having the most gorgeous fall weather and after talking to each one of you this past week I believe you are too - this is my very favorite time of year. Daddy has been out planting pansies at the top of our hill - they bloom practically all year long and we can see them from our den and enjoy them so much. Our chrysanthemums are all in bloom now and everything is just beautiful!!!!
Bob & Roy & Jeannie - we really appreciate all your phone calls and it is so wonderful to hear what you are doing - you all sound busy and happy. Jeannie says her work is coming along good - she said she was worried for a little while that she might not be able to do it because it was more involved than her other dietetic work but after a while on the job she says it is coming easier and she feels more confident about it. It was so fun to talk to the children too - that little Sarah practically comes through the phone she is so enthusiastic. We' re happy that Claire & Patrice are still felling good - you should both have a dozen since you haven't had may problems - that's easy for me to say, right????
We went over to the Woolleys last night for apple pie and ice cream - it is always fun to be with our grandchildren and the pie was delicious. Ron & Ann are "gathering " things for their new home - Ron was working on some wicker furniture for Susanna, Jessie & LeeAnnas' rooms and Russell was so excited because he has a new bedspread with dinosaurs on it.
Johnny is doing good - he is REALLY studying. He has some mid-term exams last week and he did great in physics but he said his calculus professor fouled him up - Ha! He is so pleasant to have with us - always happy and upbeat!!!! He has ordered a computer for our home from BYU - it is an IBM 30 - maybe you all know what kind that is - it won't be here for about 4 weeks. The workmen are here today putting a wall furnace in his room - that room has to be coldest I have ever been in - I still have nightmares about having Bob & Claire and little Brett sleep there last Winter - we had no idea how cold it was!!!!
Daddy is feeling much better. Last week was a hard one for him - they took another bone scan and the neurologist that he saw on Friday has scheduled him for the more sophisticated brain scan (the MRI) at the U. of U. medical center next week. He will have a spinal tap tomorrow to see if he has a viral infection. He has some valium and anti-depressant pills that really help him but he isn't taking very many of them. He'll be just fine!!!! We love each one of you so very much. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Let us know how we can help you!!!!
