Dearest Johnny; Roy & Patrice; Bob, Claire, Michael & Laura & Brett, Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell, LeeAnna & Jimmy:

It's Sunday night and this will be a short letter!!! Mary Ann came to stay with us on Friday and I'll take her home early in the morning and stay with Sarah while Jean & Rick go with Barji to have her tonsils taken out. We have really enjoyed little Mary Ann - she has been singing constantly since she got here and it's so wonderful to have that little voice throughout the house!!! We haven't one anything special but she has been so content. Yesterday we met "the cousins" the mall and watched a fashion show together and then Jessie came home with us and they played together for awhile and then we took them to Lehi to see the spouse but we were all disappointed because it wasn't there this year. The people who decorate their home over there have been doing it for at least twenty years but something must have happened because they didn't do it this year. Daddy and had to go to a missionary farewell at the Steel's home for their daughter today at 5 so Mary Ann went over to the cousins to watch Mary Poppins for a couple hours and of course, she loved that and they send her home with a Hostess Chocolate Cupcake which is her very favorite!!!!

Johnny - what a wonderful letter!!!! You sound a lot happier and it's great that your ankle is about healed - we hope it won't give you any more problems and you will be able to work like you want to. I'll send you Dr. Steel's address again and maybe if you possibly could you would send him a little something from awhile (maybe it would be easier to bring it - whatever). We offered to pay him but he wouldn't take anything (expect, of course, for the brace). We're thrilled that you are getting some new "Tailor Made" slacks and that is a deal (material for three pair of pants cost $28 and the tailor will make them for $7.50 a pair). Be sure to not take advantage of him though. We are so proud that your contacts in San Bernardo wanted you to baptize them - it was neat for the Mission Preside to let you do it - we laughed about how you put a plastic bag on your foot to do just talked to Louise Erekson in Billings - they reorganized the stake today an released Pres. Ferrell and put in Bishop Stott as Stake President, Jerry Burns and Phillip Green as the counselors. She also told me that Grant Sumption (sp.?) who used to live with the Jordan family had to come home from his mission because he has leukemia - that is so sad - she said she has heard different reports on the seriousness of it. I had a funny experience one day last week - I was in Albertsons Grocery store and they called for a "clean up boy" to come and who should come carrying a mop but Elder Beese. He didn't see me so I didn't say anything - I'm proud that he will do that - he wants to get married so I guess he will work doing anything.

Bob & Claire - it was so fun to talk to you the other night. Bob had had to work for four days & nights straight so Claire took the children to see him. I don't know how you can keep going and I worry about your health so be smart!!!! I told Barji the other day that she and Michael will really have fun at Christmas time taking about their operations. We love to hear Michael explain things - in fact I can just see him and the expressions he gets on his face as he goes in to such great detail. Little Laura is surely talking a lot now too and we can understand her too (I'm always so grateful when our grandchildren talk so I can understand what they're saying.)

Roy & Patrice - I talked to a lady at church today whose son is getting his MBA at Harvard - she has never been to Boston and is anxious to go visit him. The Steel's daughter is so excited about going there - she asked for your address but I said it would be almost impossible to find you home!!!

Do you all remember Allen Culwell from Little Rock - he is in law school here at BYU. I talked to Chris yesterday and she gave me all the LR news!!!

It's late so I won't start another page. We love each one of you so very much - PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - Let us know how we can help you!
