Dearest Johnny; Roy & Patrice; Bob, Claire, Michael, Laura & Brett; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell & LeeAnna:

It's a gorgeous morning - it gets really warm during the late afternoon but always cools off at night and everything seems so fresh in the mornings. I hope it's like this all Summer - we turned our air conditioner on for the first time yesterday afternoon but only for a little while because we like the windows open when it's cool outside.

Last Thursday was Michael's birthday and he was so cute to call us on Saturday to tell us he had received his present - I always think he is Barji or Ricky when he calls but he is quick to tell us who he is!!! Today is Barji's birthday and we stopped in to see them on Friday and she was excited about having a party today - we hope it's fun!!!

Johnny - we didn't hear from you last week!!! We hope it's because you have been transferred to a "wonderful place" but since it isn't transfer time we rather assume it's the Chilean mail again. We think about you all the time and when we are with the young people in church who are your age we really get homesick for you. We hope you are doing good and that your weather is better - it's so funny that when we are warm you are cold and vise versa.

Claire - thank you so much for those adorable pictures - I'm going to send some of them to Johnny. You're going to have to teach Michael how to use your camera so we can get some pictures of you too - Bob is so much like his Daddy - Lynn never thinks about taking pictures!! Both Ron & Rick are so good about taking pictures but I noticed that Patrice was the one taking pictures when they were with us so I guess it is a "Mellor Male Characteristic" - Ha! Johnny took several roles of film when he first got his dog up in Billings and I though he might be interested in that but he doesn't take as many as I would like for him to your "deck sounds great and Bob - we're proud of you for building it - that will make your home so much more comfortable and also add to the value of it. We don't envy you your hot humid weather but when we're freezing in the snow and ice in the Winter time you will have beautiful weather.

Chris & Wayne are here with us and we're enjoying them so much. They came in Last Thursday - on Friday we went to Eden (up Ogden canyon) to attend the wedding reception for one of our missionaries - we had never been there so it was fun trip. Johnny - do you remember Elder Pack? It was his reception and it was really nice - his father is a dentist and commutes to Ogden every day and they live on a ranch where they raise "huge" horses. The Smiths were very impressed with Eden - I think it would be ideal in the Summer but we understand the people there are often snowed in for several weeks in the Winter.

Roy & Patrice - how are things going for you? Patrice, we're anxious to hear how you like your school. I'll bet it is kinda' fun to get back into the swing of college life again. Everything we see around here I find myself thinking of you and wishing you had seen it. We haven't been to the "Pageant of the Arts" in American Fork yet but we hope to take the Smiths to it because we hear that is really special - you just weren't here long enough!

The Woolleys came over for a few minutes last night and we're all getting anxious for the baby to come. This is the second time we have been close to having a grandchild born (we were in Little Rock when Michael was born) and I'm so excited!!! I'm not going to start another page. We love each one of you so very much - PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - Let us know how we can help you!!!

P.S. Daddy has finished our second level patio and it is absolutely wonderful - we're going to have a big party tomorrow night - the Sondrups, Frances James Gene & Sandy Jones, Barb Andrews, etc., my next letter will be better!
