Dearest Johnny; Roy; Bob, Claire, Michael & Laura; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean, Mary Ann & Sarah Lynn; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell & LeeAnna:
Today is Grandpa Forrest's 89th Birthday - we hope he has had a really happy day!!!! Grandmother has been in the hospital this past week with some internal bleeding - I called and talked to her doctor one night and he seemed to think they would be able to control it so she could go home soon and I hope he's right and that she is home now. Dee has called us several times to keep us informed and we have really appreciated that.
We just called Jeannie & Rick and they're doing fine - Jeannie's blood pressure has gone down and she has to have it checked every day and try and try to decrease her medicine. Little Sarah was having bath when we called and Jeannie said she is doing great - so all is well with the Weinert family. Jeannie said she could never have made it without Ann's help - Ann has all the children last week and then took them home on Friday night and Jean said they had had a wonderful time. I guess the Weinerts are having the usual problems of a "new baby in the house" so to solve a little of it they have bought a little bunny rabbit - I have never heard of that but Jeannie says Mary Ann can squeeze it and carry it around without too much harm done to the rabbit and it might save little Sarah's life - Ha!
Annie - we're anxious to hear your stories of seven children under the age of six - we know you have some to tell! We're so proud of you for doing that and we know you did it with a lot of love. We thought Johnny might be able to help you but when he called us on Thursday afternoon he hadn't even known you had all of them! I'll bet Susanna & Jessie are both out of school by now and you'll have a fun, fun Summer - have you made any decisions about buying a lot?
Claire - we loved your letter - we hadn't heard from you for awhile and were getting a little worried. Your camping and boating trip sounded like so much fun - we can just imagine how much fun Michael must have on these trips. We're really thrilled you will do this while your children are small because it is so good for them - hard on you but worth it!!! Is the lake you went to as pretty as the lakes in Arkansas? We have worried about you with all the tornadoes around! Our weather is so cool - in fact, we have had the heat on several mornings. We're sorry about Michael's tricycle (Claire ran over it) but I'm sure he won't leave it in the driveway again.
Johnny will be home on Tuesday night and we're anxious for him to get here. He went to Tremonton with his roommate a couple weeks ago and has a good time - he has made some good friends at school. We're glad your leg is better and hope it stays that way. We hope you went to Chere's wedding reception (Chere Jones got married last Thursday and they had an open house for her in their home). It's hard to believe you Missionary Farewell will be this coming Sunday - there are too many things going on!!!
Roy - we hope all is well with you! I'll bet you are planning a little vacation - it has been a long time since you have had one. How is your garden Patrice?
We went to Wolfpoint, Montana yesterday morning and just got home a little while ago - it's about 400 miles and we didn't leave there until 4 o'clock this afternoon and got home about 9 o'clock. You wouldn't believe all the things they did for us today - they gave Daddy an Indian Head Dress (War Bonnet) that is just beautiful, they gave me a beautiful beaded necklace (red, and it just matched the dress I had on), and two beautiful star quilts. They had a delicious dinner for us and the tables were all decorated with little tepees they had made. They also gave us some cute Indian pillows. We are a little embarrassed - we took gift for the Branch Pres. & his wife in Wolfpoint but nothing like they gave us. This is so typical of the Lamanite people - they just give and give and give!
We are still cleaning this house - we worked every day last week. The Bishop sent over a young girl to help us - she got in trouble and has to do some service projects. The House Elders have really been slow in moving out - they have a nice apartment though and we think everything will work great. I hope through this next week - it's going to be a busy one!!!
We love each one of you so very much - PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - let us know how we can help you!
