Dearest Johnny; Roy; Bob, Claire, Michael & Laura; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean & Mar Ann; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell & Lee Ann:

We are finally having some Summer weather - I believe it is 850 outside today and it feels so good. Daddy had a middle of the month transfer this past week because of some problems in the leadership in some of the zones and one zone leader was transferred from Missoula, Montana to Casper, Wyoming - it had been beautiful and warm in Missoula and the day after he got in Casper it snowed - he about died!!! I believe you all in Utah had some snow too and it was forecast for here but we didn't get it - we have beautiful tulips and daffodils up and it's time to trim our rose bushes so it must be Spring!

Roy - I felt bad about forgetting to mention you in my last week's letter so I'm going to do that first. I am beginning to forget a lot of things - some of that is due to my age I'm sure but most of all it's because there are so many things to do in the next two months and not a lot of time to get them done. We surely hope your work is going really good - we know you're happy because now is a beautiful time of year in Boston and there are a million things to do there. We heard today about a young doctor who is going to Wolfpoint, Montana because of a Government grant - they are so excited because he is a member of the church and has been a Branch President. You would have had to have been in Wolfpoint to appreciate that is reservation and there are few members of the church there and those in leadership positions really have a hard time. You will have to go to a larger place where there are big hospitals because of your field so you won't have to worry about going to Wolfpoint. They really need good doctors on reservations - one doctor diagnosed a friend of ours as having a tumor and she was six months pregnant - he even did surgery to remove the tumor!!!

Annie - we loved your letter and your trip to Jerome sounded fun - it gives you a little rest to do something different even though it was a short trip (they went to pick up some beef Ron's father had butchered for them). We were so excited to hear that little Lee Anna pushed Grandma Agnes' wheelchair all over the rest home - I'll bet she will be walking before long and that will be such a help for you - I'm sure Agnes was thrilled to see all of you!

Jeannie - we can hardly wait for May 10th - it was so good to talk to you. (Jeannie's doctor has told her they will do a cesarean section then unless something happens before). We hope you will come up with some boys and girls names before then (I'm sure you will!) We hope Ricky had a good time fishing (Rick had taken him to Bear Lake to spend the night and go fishing) and that Barji had fun with her "sleep over" friend!!

Claire - we loved your letter and we thought about you last night during roadshow time. You have really put a lot of effort into that and we hope you will save the costumes for future roadshow or something (she has made 12 duck costumes - including 24 duck feet) Things like that really are worthwhile but they're surely a lot of work! I'll bet your yard is beautiful and we're proud that you will do so much work - 30 tons of sand sounds like a lot to me!!!!

Johnny - we're proud of your efforts to get your car sold and get the Lincoln in running condition. We're anxious to hear if you have had any interest in your car - Daddy says if it isn't sols by the end of May it will be a good idea for you to put it on a lot here in Billings for the month of June! It's great that you didn't have any problems starting the Lincoln - we will be so happy to have all our "eggs in one basket" (Johnny had to call us to send him the title for it so he could get it licensed, etc.) We surely hope your leg isn't still bothering you (he said his foot burned a lot and kept him awake at night) - I know there is damage that will take a long time to heal and we hope you're taking good care of yourself!

We just got home from Glendive, Montana. We left early yesterday morning and got there about noon and had our zone conference all afternoon and then their District Conference meetings started last night and then went this morning from 8:30 until noon. Daddy had to speak at all the sessions and I spoke at their Mother-Daughter meetings this morning and then at the first session of conference. This will be our last conference there. We had a zone conference here in Billings all day Thursday and we go again tomorrow to the Western part of the Mission.

I don't have any more news so I'm not going to start another page. We love you all so much - PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - Let us know how we can help you!
