Dearest Johnny; Roy; Bob, Claire, Michael & Laura; Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean & Mary Ann; and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie, Russell & Lee Anna:

It's a beautiful day in Billings, but my word, It is SO cold!!!!! I know we don't have a corner on the cold weather - we heard on the news the other day about a place East of Logan, in Utah, that was -68 and that's even colder than Wisdom, Montana. They were worried in Utah that many older people might have severe problems heating their homes and they were providing places of shelter for lots of people. Chris & Joy called me from Little Rock yesterday and said they had more snow than they had ever seen there and everything was closed down - things really come to a stand still there when the roads get bad. Chris said there had been all kinds of accidents. They keep telling us that it will be this way for another month here.

We had a wonderful letter from Johnny this week and also from Jeannie!!! Johnny had been to Salt Lake to see the Utah Jazz play and he had enjoyed that. We're so happy you like school Johnny and that your roommates are all congenial and everything - that makes such a big difference in your happiness in school!!! We're proud that Ricky is learning to ski and also that he has his "own" room now - we agree that he has lived with dolls long enough. It's hard to believe that little Mary Ann is in a big bed - I'll bet she and Barji are really pals!!!

We were supposed to go to Bozeman this morning for their Stake Conference but we would have had to leave around 6:30 and Daddy just decided we didn't need to go - their Stake President usually calls to invite us but he didn't this time so we're thinking maybe it was postponed or something. I really believe we're thinking maybe it was postponed or something. I really believe we're kinda' slowing down - I can feel it in my bones - and I don't think we'll to the Stake Conferences unless we really have to. They called from George P. Lee's office the other day and told us to be to the Conference in Cody next Sunday so we'll have to go to that one. We have stayed home from the missionary district meetings in January and we will have double the baptisms than we did a year ago so our present isn't as vital as we had thought.

We had our zone leader conference scheduled for last Tuesday and Wednesday here in Billings and I bought all the food for it on Monday. Well - Monday afternoon the weather news was for hazardous road conditions throughout all of Montana so Daddy postponed it and we had it Friday & Saturday. There were 25 of us staying in the home and the schedule was for dinner and breakfast here in the home but I ended up feeding them lunch yesterday too because their meetings ran late. I am constantly amazed at how much food they eat - I fixed baked beans, potato salad, bar-b-cue hamburgers and a huge pan of those chocolate chip cookie made in a cake pan, plus ice cream. I had to fix something that could be ready so I could attend the meetings and them come home and just put it on the table - they really enjoyed everything. We fixed pineapple juice and more cookies for them to have before they went to bed Friday night. Saturday morning, Daddy and I went to the kitchen about 6 o'clock to start breakfast - I eight times the pancake recipe so it made 64 big whole wheat pancakes and Daddy fried six packages of sausage and four dozen eggs and we just finally stopped so they stopped yesterday I fixed thirty-five cheese sandwiches and I know they would have eaten more but I ran out of bread and cheese. Our kids NEVER ate like that!!!

Daddy and I went out to the reservation last night to attend a farewell party for elder & Sister Wright - they will go home this Tuesday - back to Brigham city. They really had a nice party for them and gave them a lovely quilt with all their name on it and also some Indian shawls and moccasins. They have a single daughter who lives in Illinois and she came to help them pack and move back home - she was to the party and she is a lovely girl. Daddy is going to bring the missionary couple from Wolf Point to take their place - they haven't been very happy in Wolf point so we're hoping they will like the Crow Agency better.

I don't have enough news to start another page! Chris said that Kim Aday's baby is still alive but she thinks something is wrong with it. Marilyn Harris is setting the world on fire working for New York Life. Skylar is R. S. Pres. in Fort Worth and has some "hard to work with counselor. Annie & Ron, bob & Claire and Roy --we hope all is well with all of you. We love each one of you so very much. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Let us know how we can help you!
