Dearest Roy, Bob, Claire & Michael, Rick, Jean, Ricky, Barbara Jean & Mary Ann and Ron, Ann, Susanna, Jessie & Russell,
I feel last week was a dream - we really loved having Bob and Michael and Ann, Susanna, Jessie and Russell with us - the time just went whizzing by and the upstairs seems so empty now. I have worried because I don't think Ann or Bob got enough rest - in fact, I'm sure that were completely worn out when they left. The ages of Michael and Russell are such that they wouldn't let Bob and Ann out of their sight and consequently they were never at ease. What enjoy for Daddy and I though, to see the children and become reacquainted with them - we are so proud of them and also of their parents and the way they are being taught. The Elders in the home were so impressed with all of you. Thank you for coming!
Roy - we're so proud of your internship in one of the hospitals in Boston for next year. That will work out just wonderful for you because it will give you a year to decide exactly what you want to do - serve out your time with the Air Force after this next year or go on the another internship of your choice. We can just imagine how wonderful it will be to be earning a salary - you and Bob certainly deserve a salary after all these years of hard, hard study. We'll be anxious to hear more about everything - we know Patrice is happy to have you close where her work is!
Jeannie - we're so proud of you too and all your speaking engagements - thanks so much for sending us the "flyers" about the Nutrition Seminars - you are really something to be doing that with your little family - also, your diet classes - I don't know how you do it and we hope you won't "over do it" and get sick. Ann couldn't say enough about how beautiful your home is - we're anxious to see it. Rick - we surely hope your Mom is getting along good!
We can't get over how much little Russell looks like his Grandpa Russell - he broke out with the chicken pox a day or so after they got here and he was really good considering how covered he was. They were starting to "scab over" the day they left so I'm sure he is well by now - we'll be interested to see if Susanna gets them and we'll tell you if Elders Tisdel and McCaffery get them (two Elders in the home haven't had them).
I can really see a lot of Claire in Michael as he gets older - Daddy won't admit it but I think he can too. I'm enclosing this picture of him with Elder Loren Dunn - it will mean something to him later in life I'll bet. I hope the pictures we took while you were all her are good and we'll send you some. Claire - we hope your trip to New York was a good one!
Ron's sister, Jo, Ann, had made little satchels for Susanna, Jessie and Michael - they are simply darling each has his name on it. They were so well organized and packed their own things - good training!!!! They were excited to get home to their Daddy.
Daddy and I went to Lovell, Wyoming yesterday for their Stake Conference meetings and just got home a few minutes ago. That is a special Stake - they had dinner for us last night and I couldn't believe all the food - huge slices of ham, salads, baked potatoes with sour cream, rolls, vegetable casserole, relish tray and all kinds of pie. The Stake President, John Abraham, is five by five and after seeing him eat last night I can see why - Daddy is worried that he will die of a heart attack soon and he is only 43. They're the ones who have this lovely home in Byron (we understand they own most of the country down there) and Sister Abraham had cancer surgery last June - they have ten beautiful children!!! I would give any thing if I had stopped her the other night at the mall Ann so you could have met her - I hope you get to meet them sometime. Jeannie - your friend, Linda Morrison, and her husband were there so I took a picture of them and when I get it developed I'll sent it to you. She is so interested in you and said to tell you hello - they can't have children so have put in for adoption.
Grandmother Forrest is in the Brigham City hospital with a kidney infection - I talked to her yesterday and she says she feels a lot better - she'll probably go home tomorrow. They are fighting the infection with intravenous solutions so it will heal from the inside out.
That's all the news - we love each one of you so very much and we were so proud of you - _____ how we can help you and PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!
