Dearest Kids,

The typewriter ribbon ran out and we have packed the extra ones so I'm down to a pen and carbon!!

Today is Mother's Day and I appreciate so much your kind remembrances - I love being your Mother, and realize every single day what truly wonderful children we have - we are really proud of you!!

Congratulations Annie & Ron!!  What a marvelous blessing - we are thrilled to pieces to hear about "tiny baby" Russell John who isn't so tiny.  We can hardly wait to see him - no matter how hard I try I can't imagine him looking like Susanna & Jessie.  I really feel cheated to not be there to hold him & to help you.  Susanna will be a lot of help later on - patience! patience! patience!

Jeannie we're so happy you are feeling a little better and we hope more than anything this will continue - you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.  We're really thrilled that Dorothy is enjoying her stay with you - we know that Ricky and Barji are loving her so much.  Rick - how's the new job - when are you going to New Jersey?

Roy - we have decided to not come see you.  I am disappointed but with Brown's graduation that same time, it wouldn't be right.  We're so happy for Patrice - a museum job in Boston - wow!!  We surely hope your car will hold our - we think its' wonderful that you can keep it running - it you don't like doctoring maybe you can be a mechanic - HA!

Claire goes to New York today so after Bob takes her to the airport he's coming over and we're going to cook steaks.  We wanted her to come too but Bob says she is in too big of a tizzy before she goes on these trips.  He Mother is going to fly to N.Y. from Houston & meet her there so they will spend the week together in N.Y. - doesn't that sounds fun?  Michael has a cold so  Bob will have his hands full - he worked two nights this week after taking his National Board Exams Monday & Tuesday - he said they were hard but thinks he passed.

We have had another offer on our house & Daddy is working out the figures to see if we should take it.  They want us to take $20,000 cash and carry the rest with full amount paid in 10 years.  We have made a counter offer that is close to that.  It's hard to know what to do!!

Johnny played for the Seminary Graduation dance last night - he said everything went fine.  He loaded all his things in the Lincoln and drove over and back - we really worried until he got him about 1 am.

We love you all very much & hope you will tell us if we can help you in any way.  Please be careful in everything you do.
