Dearest Ron, Ann, Susanna & Jessie, Rick, Jean, Ricky & Barbara Jean and Roy,
I'm writing my letter on Saturday night because tomorrow is going to be a busy day - church in the morning, then Bob & Claire and Michael are coming for dinner and we have to be out of the house by 2 o'clock so the Real Estate people can have an open house. They say we will probably have a lot of people coming through all our closets and open drawers and things but I guess that's part of it - we have had an offer on our home which we turned down and they came back with a customer offer and we turned that down also - our price is $123,500 and they offered $115,00. I feel like we have three years to sell it and it's dumb to take anything less than it is listed for - the real estate people think it is fairly priced too!!!!
We have talked to each one of you this week and we're so happy you are all doing good and that you're happy. Tomorrow is little Jessie's birthday and we can just imagine the fun the Woolleys and Weinerts are having tonight with an Easter egg hunt and dinner and all - we wish we could be there too. We're happy you are going to have Easter with Patrice's family Roy - we worry about all the snow you have had this past week and hope the roads will be good. This will be the first year I haven't fixed an Easter basket - Johnny hasn't appreciated them for the past few years but since we had so many of them in the attic I always fixed one up but this year they are either packed or thrown away so I won't be tempted. We haven't been to church for the past two Sundays so it will be a treat to go tomorrow and they are predicting nice weather for a change - we have had terrible weather, tornadoes, rain and really cold.
Daddy and I just came home from the hospital where we went to see one of our missionaries who had to have an emergency appendectomy - he is from Billings, Montana and really a neat young man - we have two Elders here from Montana and they are both outstanding. Elder Aldridge told us a lot about Billings tonight and if it is even one half as nice as he says it is we will probably make that our retirement home - Ha! He says that Johnny is in for the treat of his life - a lot of LDS kids in the high schools and just continuous activity in sports and other things and he also says "beautiful girls"!!! We have to take in consideration that he has lived there all his life and he is quite homesick being in the hospital and all - BUT the Mission President who is there now, Pres. Milne says just about the same thing - he called to talk to Daddy and he says it is the most wonderful place in the world. I talked to sister Milne also and she said, "Honey, don't come without a cook!!!" so I'm on the lookout and if any of you have any ideas on one please let me know - there are six missionaries in the home now and she says they really eat!!! She told me a lot about the home and it must be very nice there are twenty-five rooms and we have out apartment (or area) that is completely private from the rest of the house - she has a girl come in once a week to do the cleaning besides her cook who is also a housekeeper and mender of missionary clothing, etc.!!! We are really getting excited and we continue to receive letters from all over congratulating us and we appreciate them all so much.
Do you all remember the may family who lives just two doors from us - they lived right next door to the Dennises? They have two daughters and one of them is Johnny's age - her name is Nancy - Nancy went to Mount St. Mary's school for girls until last year when she transferred to Hall. We just heard that they have sent her to Shreveport to a drug treatment center and she'll be there for about four months and then they'll send her away to another school - the saddest thing is that everyone is saying she was getting her drugs from her boyfriend who is Kevin Hampson who lives just three houses the other way from us. We really worry about easy accessibility to drugs here and wonder if it is that way all over.
Johnny was supposed to go float the Buffalo river today with the Stake MIA - he didn't go because he had a cold and it was such bad weather - haven't heard if the others went. Daddy went fishing with Wayne Smith on Friday and he has a bad cold now - Chris and Wayne are here from Alabama for a couple weeks - they would like to buy a lot in Lehi and build on it when we come home from our Mission - they're going to sell the home Linda is living in here.
That's all the news - we surely do love each one of you and we'll be thinking of you tomorrow on Easter. We hope you have a happy birthday on Friday Jeannie - this is the BIB ONE HA!!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO - LET US KNOW IF WE CAN HELP YOU IN ANYWAY!!!
